Billy Optimist's Rush
 

Hey everyone, remember Billy Optimist? Well i have been keeping in contact with him and he rushed this fall. Today he told me he got a bid from Theta Chi!!!!! :) He wishes he could post this himself but he has been having problems getting in to greekchat for some time now. Anyhow, i told him i would share this great news with the greekchat community!!!!

Hey...this is Billy O. I finally got the computer figured out. For now anyways...

We had our first pledge get together yestarday and have a formal meeting tonight. Its not untill seven, though, so i'll be chilling and reading the manual untill then. Thank you guys for your support.

Thanks everyone!! I'm having a great time. We recieved our pledge pins last night. I was so excited. It was the best feeling ever.

Hey billy, congrats on getting a bid. Good luck with your goatship, err i mean new membership. Study for your pledge tests, fly straight, and be involved and you will be on your way to intiation. Even if you think pledging is gonna break your back, just remember that in a matter of months you will be active, then its a whole new game. Congrats man.

Billy - congrats man, here's the advice my pledgefather gave me the night I got pinned, it's pretty much universal: (aka 2 rules and an order)

1 - FTS (PM me for this one)
2 - Have some fun, and just roll with it - it'll work out in the end

*Be honest for better or worse, no matter what

yeah Billy! I am so hyped for you. I have been thinking about how your rush went. Too cool. I KNEW you'd find a house that was right for you. The Theta Chi's are definately lucky to have a great new member like you. My advise is as follows:

1. Always be wiling to take the initiative, lead, show that you are the best pledge there. Go above and beyond the call of Duty.
2. Always treat the brothers with respect, as well as your pledge brothers.
3. Keep your opinions to yourself, unless asked. And I mean REALLY asked.

Do that, and youre in. I do wanna hear about your rush and how that went. DETAILS!!!!

First and foremost, Billy congratulations on getting Theta Chi. Judging from reading your posts on GC and how well you get along with everyone...I know that you're going to be a strong asset to your chapter. GOOD LUCK!

And y'all can take this however you want--but since when did GC become a singles' bar? Hooking up is your business, but it'd probably be best to take things elsewhere....not to the Academics forum or any other forum on GC for that matter.

Hey OTW--I have to agree. I don't mean to comment on anyone's personal business but trying to hook up on GC is a little tacky. I love BillyO and all since he's a great guy but I was just kinda taken aback by those few posts.

Sorry if that sounds prudish...just the way I feel

I don't think anyone is actually trying to hook up here . . . There are no real chat rooms for cyber sex or anything (unless you want to compete with the Greek language speakers) and we all tend to come from different parts o the country. I believe the posts were in good fun.

This being said: If you have a sparkling personality, are clever, aesthetically attractive, reasonably into fitness, and single (with no serious emotional baggage, like the ex you can't get over), feel free to email me and the other single male members of GC.

Also please include a brief history of you and your family's mental health report. As Jeff and I seem to agree, no "Bunny Boilers" allowed.:)

Oh it would also be nice if you lived within a reasonable distance;).

But seriously, I don't think y'all are being prudish at all, but maybe taking the posts a trifle more seriously than they are intended.

And this is coming from someone who cultivates much less contact with members of GC than a lot of the serious posters do . . . Meaning I tend not to talk on IM or email members very much outside these bulletin boards.
