Christmas Time

Is there any better time to be an ASA than Christmas time? Even for our Jewish (or other non-Christian) sisters - Crimson, White, Green, Gold, Pearls, Rubies, Stars and Crowns everywhere! You can't help but think of ASA and remember the good times with sisters.

Enjoy the holidays, ladies.:D

It's the one time a year I bring out my Raggedy Ann collection of ornaments. I actually have enough for a whole tree now. My Mom got me my first one in 1973.

I haven't been able to find any ladybugs yet though. I've been looking!

Andy decided he wanted to get a star this year.

Ahhh, I want some Raggedy Ann ornaments!

sjsoffer 11-29-2008 12:27 PM

Ooh, and I want ladybug ornaments! So what if I'm jewish? :D

I struggle to determine how the designer thought that this even resembled a lady bug, besides the red with spots.

WinniBug 11-30-2008 06:18 PM

YAY!
I just saw a Campbell's green bean casserole commercial.
:-)

I agree.

It kind of looks like a hedgehog wearing a ladybug coat.

I guess we'll have to get PETA after people who make ladybug coats.:p

I have been searching ebay and other sites to find any other ASA related ornaments. Does anyone know of where I can find ASA/Ladybug/Raggedy Ann ornaments?

Not sure what happened to my first post...
I find Raggedy Ann ornaments in the temporary shops and kiosks set up in the malls, Hallmark (in previous years) and sometimes department stores. I'll be doing the same for Ladybugs now that we have Dot.

I found a new Raggedy Ann Saturday night! She's very patriotic in a Betsy Ross outfit and is holding a flag.

WinniBug 12-15-2008 08:26 AM

There are 2 on ebay right now

Thanks! The ones on ebay weren't there when I looked earlier. I did find a really cute hand painted ornament on ebay right after I posted this and I won the auction! I have been looking for Raggedy Ann everywhere but I can't find her! A few years back was her 50th or 100th anniversary (not sure how old Ann is...) and I remember finding a ton of Ann ornaments. I bought some for a few of my sisters for Christmas presents. I should have picked up one for myself, though. Sigh.

sjsoffer 12-18-2008 11:07 PM

Two of our graduating seniors hand painted ornaments for everyone, so now I have an ASA ornament on my tiny tree! :) yay!

RaggedyAnn 12-20-2008 09:00 AM

I've been asked to bring green bean casserole to Christmas dinner...LOL. Believe it or not, I've never made it.
