Getting Back to Normal
 

I guess it's still kind of hard to get back to normal.

I could not log on. I had to really search. I normally go to my favorites and I could not get the site up. Maybe others are having the same problem

Personally, I was just kind of disgusted...

I didn't feel like posting because a lot of the topics I came back looking for were gone/altered. I was mad at John H. for not having some semblance of redundancy going... Maybe he did and I just don't know what I am talking about. I mean dang, what are RAID controllers for??? Why wasn't he running 72 hour backups instead of weekly backups? lol
It matters very little nonetheless, I was still irritated. :rolleyes:

I understand that he doesn't HAVE to run this site, and I am thankful for the the time he spends supporting something so many of us are addicted to... It must be very time consuming to run/maintain a site that is soooooo busy.

I am just an addict who crashed after not getting my fix for a few days. I just needed to get over my gripe.

This happens a lot. If a really popular site goes down for a week or more a lot of the people who come to the site find other things to do online and forget about the old site.

I've been having the same problem...with all this madness going on the few times I feel like posting I can't even log on...I've been MIA for months...ironically when I am ready to return all this happens... :(

I couldn't log on until yesterday. I'm glad GC is back up. Too bad about some of the posts. But hey, what are you gonna do? I haven't really gotten back into the swing of things. I feel...discombobulated. :(

I have been super busy this semester. So much so that I haven't had time to get caught up with the new style of GC. it's lookin good though. I hope we can get this spot movin again

I used to post at work. BUT can you imagine? They actually want us to work during work hours....lol......we all received a nice little email requesting that everyone limit their internet usage. So have i have try to post (and read) after I fix dinner...put the little one to bed....clean the kitchen....OK enough about my exciting life....

Hello everyone,
I've been gone too. I got a new job w/ the worst hours in the world. On top of that, I can't use the internet at work :( So I have to wait until i get home. But usually when I get home, i have so many other things to do, that I don't have time to check in. I'm gonna try and get back into the swing of things. I miss all you guys :)

I have been student teaching, playing supermom, being anti-basileus of my chapter and trying to keep my house in order. This semester has been an adjustment to say the least. After the tragedy last week I was kinda not in the mood to post, but life must go on. I just think about all those kids who cant kiss theri Mom's and Dad's and it just reminds me of how precious life is.

I actually didn't know greekchat was back up! I stopped checking because getting that error message was getting on my nerves. I've really missed you guys. Also...I work in NYC and my company is on a back up server because of the tragedy. Being on Greekchat is considered non-work related internet use so you won't see me again unless I log on at home. :(

:)...I'm back on the scene too! I kinda stayed away b/c I couldn't count on my mood staying in one place (going from crying, to anger, to insecurity, to just numbness, & back again)...but, I'm making my way back! I'm glad to see you all are well & still bickering :D. Take care!

I have re-registered. When I came back to check GC and found out that my login did not work b/c it had been deleted and all of my posts had been lost, I was pretty irritated (considering that I wrote books in a couple of posts) and didn't really feel like re-registering. However, I decided to go ahead and re-register so that I can add my .08 cents to the coversations.

I believe a part of the problem is that we have certain threads "stuck" at the top. Before I realized what was done, I thought there were no new posts the first couple of times I came in here.

Maybe some folks don't realize that moderators can "stick" threads to remain at the top of the forum.
