Things fast food places do that make you mad. Which one makes the most mistakes?
I think it's unhealthy so I don't eat fast food anymore, but when I did.....I hated it when I would get home, and my hamburger would have mayonaise on it when I told them NO MAYONAISE. I hate mayonaise. I thought Wendy's and Taco Hell made the most mistakes. When I used to eat Taco Hell, I would specifically tell them "none of that white sauce" whatever it was. Anyway, they would still put it on my taco.
What about you? What made you mad, and which one do you think makes the most mistakes when you eat there? |
McDonalds can never seem to get my order right....I went to their drive through for the first time in a couple of months, and the drive through radio cut out. I went to the payment window, no one there. Went to the pickup window, and the girl hiding at the payment window starts freaking out and yelling at the girl in the 2nd window, saying "She hasn't paid! She hasn't paid!"
Well, OF COURSE I haven't paid, you weren't there! But yeah, this is just one example of the wonderfully idiotic kind of things that McDonalds has pulled. |

The worst:
Once I was babysitting and got a Happy Meal for one of the kids. When I got home and looked in the bag, there was a toy and a juice box--nothing else. |

Fast food dining has never given me a problem. Maybe because I always go inside to eat. The times I've done the drive through thing, I didn't like it when they would tell me to pull off to the side to wait for something. If it was fries, I was good with that, because that meant they were hot and fresh.;) |
In my area, it's the Burger King that always messes up the order. Now we know to check before we leave that window. They've given me kids' meals without chicken nuggets more than once. And, KFC never has original recipe available. It's always like a 10-15 minute wait for original recipe. You'd think they'd learn to MAKE MORE original recipe!

Speaking of Burger King (and PB I know this has happened to you too) but has anyone ever ordered breakfast from there and whatever you ordered tasted like something else? My God it happened to me and it was SO gross. I gagged. For example like eating a croissanwich, the cheese on it tasted like spoiled raw bacon or something. Sometimes the taste is on the straw when I drink orange juice from there too. What is that!? Does anyone know what I mean? It's hard to explain.

That always happens to me when Dunkin Donuts cuts my bagels. For them though, it is the garlic on the everything bagels that gets stuck on slicer. The first time it happened I was eating a plain badel with strawberry cream cheese. I spat it out and that was the end of breakfast. |
I went to McDonald's once. Ordered a Big Mac. Everything was included on the sandwich, except......
the meat. |
Went to burger king Wednesday morning. Ordered a #2 and a medium coffee. Got to work and I had two sausage biscuits, a small coffee and..... no hash browns. Burger King has the worst drive thru service.

It really cracks me up when they point out the customer satisfaction survey info on the receipt as they hand you your screwed up order. Oh yes, I will DEFINITELY call that 800 number!

I have a policy of not eating fast food because...well...it's absolutely disgusting for the most part and makes me wonder how people can stand to eat such bland food.
But recently I was moving and realized that my husband and I were short on breakfast. People had been telling me that the McDonald's Southern Chicken Biscuit tastes just like Chick-Fil-A's chicken biscuit. I figured I'd get a couple for us. So, I went to McDonald's to get two chicken biscuits and two drinks. I guess I had it in my mind that they couldn't possibly screw up a four item order. Oh but they did. When I got back home, I realized they had only given us one biscuit and two drinks. I had to run my behind back up to the stupid place because I was starving. I'm done with McDonald's. For the record, all y'all out there lied to me!! That McDonald's nastiness tastes nothing like Chick-Fil-A's decent food in any way shape or form. |
I don't eat a whole lot of fast food, because law school has done enough damage to my body. But, the Dunkin Donuts near my house is pretty special. There's always a guy who works mornings who stands in the middle and talks to the rest of his co-workers while they're trying to fill orders. I've never seen him do any work - he just starts talking randomly about stuff and waits for someone to chime in.

Ah, Dunkin's! There's a reason that the coffee is cheaper there than at Starbucks.
My standard order is a medium iced Latte Lite. Latte Lite is their name for it, not mine. It's latte with skim milk and Splenda. One would think that using the Dunkin' established product name would ensure a standard result. Noooo! Since this is New England and "coffee light" means lots of cream, often a cup of very light beige is handed to me through my car window. That's definitely not skim milk. If the closest Starbucks had a drive through, I'd be there all the time! |
^^ Hell no! I'll take Dunkins over Starbucks any day. Especially because Starbucks' hot chocolate sucks.

I think I love it because I grew up on Dunkins. In Nashua, NH, where I lived for 18 years, they have at least 10 of them. They're everywhere.
And can we at least agree that Krispy Kreme is awful? haha. Their coffee is horrible and their donuts, well.. they're not like Dunkins'. I love that they built a KK in Medford, MA and it went out of business within a few years of opening. |

I grew up around Dunkin my whole life as well (grew up in CT, went to college in Boston). Some of their stuff is ok, but I'm not as into it as other New Englanders. |
^^ Yea, for most, they pretty much live on it
|
I went to Dunkins when we were moving in to get donuts and coffee for everyone that was helping us that day. I ordered a dozen donuts, and one of those boxes of coffee. The girl stared at me, blankly, then said "Oh, a box-o-joe?" No, the OTHER bigass box of coffee. Seriously? Stop naming your stuff stupid things and maybe you'll get me to say them! :p
Dunkin Donuts makes me miss Tim Horton's something FIERCE. I'm so sad that's a Canadian/Western NY/Western PA thing. Of course, you gotta love restaurants named after hockey players! |
Mmm, Tim Horton's. I want to go there. Now.
|
We have all kinds of Tim Hortons around here.. every other mile or so there's another one. It could spread to Chicago (I'm surprised it's not there, honestly!)

I'm very excited now though - hopefully I'll find one soon! ETA: I looked it up on their website. There are none in Illinois. Sad. :( |

But we've been down this road before . . . and DD lost ;). (And that thread makes me miss DSTChaos all over again. :() |
I wish Tim Hortons was more places, seriously. Because Tim Bits rock, and they serve lunches, too!
Yummy sandwiches with hot soup and yummy coffee. |

Good one: This past summer, I went to visit my mother in VA. I adore Dunkin donuts and stopped in to get some coffee and stuff. I ordered my coffee and asked for a small box of TimBits:eek: Yup, I got Tim's on the brain |

I still say KK is evil. I can't eat a donut that's too warm. But I can't get enough of the DD donuts. The chocolate frosted ones are my favorite :)

For some reason, the local McDonald's gets their food deliveries in the evening. At dinnertime. And the truck invariably parks in the drive-thru lane, so they shut down the drive-thru. At dinnertime.
The fast-food place that really sucks around here, though, is Boston Market. I went there last spring and they had taken stuffing off the menu. STUFFING. That's arguably their most popular side. (OK, I can't fault the local BM for that - that was a corporate-level decision.) And the last time I was there, I went through the drive-thru, placed an order for two quarter chickens (white), chose the sides, corrected the order (they punched in the wrong sides), then drove up to the window. The guy told me how much it would cost, and when I pulled out my money, he said, "Oh, by the way, we're out of chicken. You'll have to wait twenty minutes." I said, "No, I don't," and drove off. He couldn't have told me they didn't have any roast chicken ready when I ordered?!?! That's like Burger King being out of burgers. |

Boston Market also took Cinnamon Apples off the menu for the summer. I went there just for those. I wrote to them and complained and let them know I wouldn't be back until the cinnamon apples were back.

Yes, Boston Market is pretty terrible. I remember when it used to be Boston Chicken (or something like that) when I was younger, and it wasn't half bad. Then, for the first few years, the Boston Market in my hometown was ok - they made really good chicken salad sandwiches, so I used to go there all the time on breaks from my summer job in high school. Somewhere down the line, the place went way downhill. During college, after a couple of drinks, I went to the one in Allston (outskirts of Boston) with a couple of friends. When it was still terrible, even with a couple of drinks in me, I vowed never to go back. |
I went to BK once with my mom and we were stoked that they were still serving breakfast. My mom gave the drive thru voice her order and he said, "Oh hold on." After 2 or 3 minutes, he WALKED OUTSIDE, turned the menu around to lunch, walked all the way back and said, "Okay, can I take your order?" We just looked at each other, then drove away.
