Anyone watching this? A week long countdown of the best hip hop songs in history!

I don't know the entire list they will reveal them by the day (but I know #1)

Man, I love the songs I have heard so far...I can't remember the last time I heard "We trying to stay alive"


what you think about the list?

They showed the first 20 songs an hour ago...ahhh, the memories!

That was a good hour. Can't wait to see the second one..

^^^I love the "where are they now" segments; it is amazing to see what everybody's up to these days.

I can't complain with the rest of the list, but some of the songs could've placed a little higher on the list, though.

Some of the songs they listed I never heard of but most I have. They really do bring back memories.

why was Foxy Brown's "I'll be" on there?

I was kinda of miffed that MC Lyte was in the 40s on the count down.. and The Game was on there? As if! I really felt like there should have been a year cut-off for these songs.... some stuff is too new to be herald as a legendary song and/or artist.

The Funky 4 + 1 more only HAD one song (they explained their reason of the one hit), they were the FIRST rap group to be on SNL (didn't know that). And Roxanne Shante had one of the BEST answer songs, and she became a legend. Oh, I apologize, I meant to say, DR. Roxanne Shante.

Who can say they blazed those trails?

Question:

Are they only allowing 1 song per artist to be in the countdown? I don't want to go to VH-1 to see the list i want to be surprised but how can you put certain songs up and not others?

I know it's only 100 songs. But they are doing better than I thought they would. So I won't complain....hey they had the JB's on there and I think that is a first.

I watched the marathon yesterday..."Golddigger" in the top 20? Are you kidding me? Who voted for these songs? I could've named dozens of songs that should've made this list. Despite a few WTF songs, the countdown was pretty good.

Ok, I think that Rappers Delight should have been #1 and PE should have been #2 with fight The Power........

Some of th songs that were on there I don't think should have been on there and then not as high....but it was real good.

I am wondering why "Get ur freak on" is on the list....if you're gonna put a Missy song on there why not "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)"
