Lambda Chi Badge

Just so everyone knows, this is EM1843. I'm on my girlfriends SN while on Spring Break. I was just checking Ebay and came across this link.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=11145

Based on the shape of the Lambda and the look of the Delta Pi I'm guessing it's old. Jono, any word. I know you and Tom know more about badges than I do.

It's not old - it's just the "cheap" badge without stones you can get from IHQ - I think I paid a whopping $8 for mine in 1987, when I was initiated - I think they are $12 today.

Thanks, Matt, but LXAAlum is right! I think they can be purchased from Hdq. for $10-12.00 !

What a lot of Zetas do, is figure that into the price of Initiation so New Memebers can have a Badge!

I love a Associate Pin on that started for 9.99 and I got one from Hdq. for 3.00!

I am not sure when Hdq. started showing that Cheapo Badge but it has not been that far back down the line!

Anyone have a time line on that?

In ZAX,

They are only $9.00 on the Lambda Chi website:

Tom Earp 03-11-2004 07:28 PM

Yep S H checked that too!

A one mans Junk is another Mans Treasure:)

But not sure how out dated that is for sure since Chad T left and if it is updated!!:(

Have to call Sahara Harris for a quote to make sure!;)

UFSigKap 03-12-2004 01:05 PM

I disagree. On INT's site the cheap badges Lambda goes all the way to the crescent, while the ebay one does not seem to. Also the DP is raised on the ebay one while INT's cheap badge has flat letters. But maybe I'm wrong.

Also look at the shape of the Lambda. The letter is flatter than INTs. Additionally the scroll work looks different. I'd take a closer look guys.

Tom Earp 03-12-2004 06:21 PM

Well, I guess if I win it, I will find out!:)

Sharp eye big guy! But pictures can be deceiving and INT. site sucks on Badge pictures. Was one of my Recs for Chad T to get new ones on site!

But is interesting after looking at a little closer!

Time will tell the tale!

I plan to make a box, with my Badges in it for the House upon my death. Not just mine, but, from the Original Badge, Associate pin I bought, TKN, APO, etc. Just for History!

Still wonder when they first came out! A few of the LX Zeta Brothers had them and all said the would like to get a better one! Well, I have some, cheaper than Hdq. and better!

Masters of Design according to Brother Jono are not nearly as good as the old ones by Burr-Patt and ??? sorry, cannot remember right now! Damn, they were our jewelers for the longest and the owner was a SX!

Could look it up, but I am sure someone on here knows!

There are many differences.

Matt, you have a very keen eye there! I hope you bid on it and get it. You spotted it first, brought this up, and deserve to have it.

But whoever is the winner, I would like to ask them to scan or photograph the back of it for me. I'm very interested in who made it and when. Thanks!

ZAX,
Jono

Tom Earp 03-14-2004 11:40 AM

Boz, thanks, just could not pull it out of head!

I am living proof that that is about the first thing to go!:(

I should have remembered that as My Original Badge is Balfor! Da Me!

EM1843 03-14-2004 06:20 PM

Jono, it looks similar to the JO Pollack badge on your site. When is that from?

JonoBN41 03-14-2004 06:49 PM

Matt, I think you are right again. If you mean the Pollack badge with rubies and three diamonds, that's Earp's. He sent it to me to scan.

Tom, you know what year it's from???

ZAX,
Jono

1 has not info on back and the other is GLA"70.

Not much to go on!:(

JonoBN41 03-16-2004 07:14 PM

Tom, what does that mean in English? I'm from New York.
