3 Dealbreakers

So if you go out on a date with someone, do you have any "dealbreakers"? Things that the person does or does not do that would cause you not to date them anymore? Mine are...

1. No sense of humor
2. Drug user
3. Waiting for marriage to have sex (harsh, I know...)

CatStarESP4 12-04-2003 04:27 PM

I guess mine would have to be:
Taking the relationship too fast (the reason why there was no second date with a guy that I had one date with 5 years ago).

Getting stood up without an apology and explanation

Someone who lacks a sense of humor or tells terrible jokes that nobody laughs at.

Drug User

Definitely someone who puts you down and lowers your self esteem

Someone who compares you to past lovers (hello, every is unique)

Prejudices and ignorance towards people who are not like you

Do I have to go on and on?

my dealbreakers
1. abuse (I ain't taking that isht from nobody! Ya put your hands on me and you are gonna be a dead mo fo!)
2. Drug use
3. No job

Only three??? Let's see... I'm married now, but my dealbreakers were:

Drug use (This includes smoking (unless he's willing to make a serious effort at quitting) and anything more than moderate drinking. It does not include medicine if taken as directed.)

Physical or emotional abuse

Cheating or otherwise misrepresenting his sexual history and current situation (I won't be the girl on the side!)

I wouldn't care so much about whether he's employed as long as he has good job prospects. If he's well educated and just got laid off - eh, it's the economy. If he's still in college, that's fine.

Pre-Date Deal Breakers:
1. Liking one of my brothers first; just because you got rejected doesn’t mean I’m about to be second best.
2. Being an obvious user; no our first date won’t be to one of my social events. If you’ve never talked to me before why would I take you to a major date function?
3. Having a go between; don’t talk to my brothers or their girlfriends, be direct and take a chance.

Date Deal Breakers:
1. Being extremely late; I understand women are late getting ready because they want things to be perfect but don’t make me ride the couch for two hours because you haven’t even showered yet, be considerate.
2. Being overtly rude to our server; it’s not a big deal if we have to wait a few more minutes. Dates are about having a relaxing evening not getting worked up over nothing.
3. Leave your cell phone at home; if I cant command you attention for an evening then we probably shouldn’t be going out.

Uh, how many virgin drug addicts have you run into?

PhiPsiRuss 12-05-2003 12:41 AM

1. drugs (I broke up with a girl that I was in love with because of cocaine)
2. liar
3. diarrhea of the mouth

GeekyPenguin 12-05-2003 01:46 AM

Aside from the obvious (drugs, serial killer, abuse, that type of thing):

1) Political differences - my friends all think I'm crazy for this but I will not marry somebody I'm not politically compatible with, so why bother dating them?
2) Overt religious differences - I'm a lazy Catholic, so he better be that or a lazy something else.
3) Children - any guy who wants kids is GONE. I do not want them, do not like them, Sam I Am.

I'm saying any one of the three are deal breakers. Fortunately I have never run into a virgin drug addict.

1. Never went to college or has no intention of getting a college degree.

2. Habitually puts people down.

3. Doesn't share the same religious beliefs.

cashmoney 12-05-2003 12:39 PM

All I can say is, Wow! I can certainly tell you people don't live in Florida when you say drug use. I can't think of anyone that doesn't use some drug to an extent.....prescription or non. And those that don't, they drink alcohol ( which is a drug ).

You guys need to loosen up a bit.
