Touring other GLO's HQs

With the rich and diverse history of all of our organizations, which we often find online nowadays, does your organization's HQ allow, with proper notification, a person of another GLO to get a tour of your HQ, at least the portions detailing the history of the GLO?

Sure. We love to show off Executive Offices and the archives area.

Great question! I'll look into this for my org.

Phi Mu HQ has been very gracious in allowing the local Alumnae Panhellenic group to hold events.

Nyapbp took a tour of DKE's HQ this year when she was in Ann Arbor for the Pi Phi chapter's centennial celebration. My chapter had a formal at the "Deke Shant" when I was an undergraduate, but this was before it became their HQ. It's a mysterious, old building with lots of symbolism.

Also, I haven't gone yet, but Sigma Nu's HQ is in the same town where my daughter goes to college, and I've been told we should visit. It's a beautiful antebellum mansion on a hill.

I've toured our HQ. From our website, it appears anyone can take a tour. There is even a virtual slideshow on-line. http://www.gammaphibeta.org/aboutus/...alheadquarters

I've toured the headquarters of Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Omicron Pi, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Delta and Phi Mu. I always contacted them ahead of time, and in every case was warmly welcomed and given a personal tour. I highly recommend it!

I am DYING to get to Indianapolis . . . :D

Ah, yes, Sciencewoman, the Deke Shant! I love that photo of it. That building has intrigued me since I first walked by it decades ago.

I've visited several other HQ and all have been welcoming. Arrangements were made ahead of time.

The Chi Omega Executive Headquarters in Memphis, TN welcomes members and non-members alike for a tour of the building and museum area.

I've not been inside that many, other than my own, but thoroughly enjoyed touring ADPi, Kappa Delta & Pi Kappa Alpha.

I've always been afraid to call other GLOs to get a tour, especially the Panhellenic organizations since I'm a guy. LOL. I didn't want to seem "stalker-istic" but seeing some of the historical items actually in person would be intriguing.

I go to a movie theater in Atlanta on Ponce De Leon a lot and since ADPi's HQ is just down the road, the next time there, I might inquire for a tour.

Kappa Alpha Order's HQ is also in Lexington.

GPhiB has one beautiful HQ, Ms. Sciencewoman. That slideshow was very well done.

Here's a link for the Chi Omega HQ slideshow and contact info for a tour, when in Memphis!

Aside from our Gamma Phi Beta HQtrs, I have toured my son's fraternity HQtrs - Alpha Tau Omega - in Indianapolis, as well as my (biological) sister's sorority HQtrs - Kappa Alpha Theta - also in Indy. I live in Peachtree City and have been numerous times in Phi Mu's lovely HQtrs since they let us hold our annual sorority information sessions there. And when I first moved here in 1998 after retiring from the Air Force, I got to see Alpha Delta Pi's Hqtrs in Atlanta. I want to do more!!!!! :)

Please put the Delta Gamma Executive Offices in Columbus, OH on your list to visit. Our Executive Director, a DG, is a retired Army general and would, I'm sure, welcome your visit!

Chi Omega HQ is right next door to the Pike national HQ (in Memphis/Germantown). KD's is about 3 blocks away, so you can visit all in 1 day!
