I rode for two hours at the barn today. I probably won't be able to walk tomorrow!

Benzgirl 11-29-2008 12:16 PM

15 minutes on the Wave
60 minutes on the Bike
Heading out to rake leaves in a few minutes

aggieAXO 11-30-2008 10:33 PM

ran 5 miles today, 3.5 yesterday, tomorrow will be sprinting with the trainer.

EE-BO 01-02-2009 11:35 PM

Been a while. Hope everyone was good for the holidays. I fell off the wagon a bit on diet and exercise, but still 65 pounds down and getting back into the swing of things.

Swam 32 laps today- mostly free with some butterfly sets.

NeuroTypical 01-05-2009 11:26 PM

Put away the holiday decorations...I sweated.

aggieAXO 01-09-2009 01:38 AM

It has been awhile, time to get back into the swing of things. I did weights on Monday, running today. Wow I feel really out of shape :(

PhoenixAzul 01-09-2009 10:25 PM

6 mile hill set today...and hot DAMN it was cold out there! Ugh, that's the worst bit, every breath felt like stabbing. Was going to run to the gym and have my swim and run home, but the pool pumps timed out and the water temp was only 68...no thank you. 3 months and some change til pittsburgh marathon though, no time for resting.

Dude, I just had an a-ha moment...do you post on BT?

I ran 5 miles today and am starting a weekly yoga class tomorrow on my orthopedist's order.

lovespink88 01-10-2009 01:03 AM

I didn't feel like leaving my house today (snowy and cold) so I checked out the exercise videos that on On Demand. I did this one led by one of the trainers on the biggest loser. It wasn't bad. Actually it was a really nice break from my normal rountine...which starts to make me think that I'm falling into TOO MUCH of a routine, and need to start changing things up.

But I did my normal abs rountine still.

aephi alum 01-10-2009 01:35 AM

I totally fell off the wagon over the holidays. I enjoyed lots of food, lots of the wrong types of food, plenty of booze (including schnapps = beaucoup de sucre), and plenty of sitting around on my big fat butt. :(

I'm going to do some form of exercise every day, even if it's just a 10-minute workout (I have a couple of "10 Minute Solution" DVDs). I've done one 10-minute toning workout each day since Monday. Next week I'm planning to add some cardio back in.

Primarily, I'm hoping to get myself back in shape. I'm also hoping to set a good example for my husband - last time we flew, he needed a seat belt extender.

Yep, yep I do! Same name, same person ;)

Zephyrus 01-12-2009 12:23 PM

I joined the Y last Friday. I haven't used my membership benefits yet, but I will.

VandalSquirrel 01-12-2009 05:42 PM

I registered and paid for my yoga teacher training today.

I also went running.

Benzgirl 01-12-2009 05:48 PM

1 hour on the bike and painted a ceiling (have paint all over my face to prove it)

KatieKate1244 01-12-2009 06:36 PM

Got my ass kicked by my roommate's new Wii Fit. Unfortunately, I've also noticed it does a number to my shin splints.

lovespink88 01-12-2009 09:31 PM

-A half hour of cardio (15 minutes of running, 15 minutes of walking on an incline)
-Some light weights & abs

I was perusing BT and recognized your screenname, but couldn't place where I had seen it before until I read this thread!

Today I ran five miles.

starang21 01-12-2009 11:26 PM

ran 4.5 miles

PhoenixAzul 01-13-2009 10:20 PM

Had a pretty epic run yesterday, so today I took it easy and did a half hour on the dreadmill and then did my weights workout. Tomorrow's plan is a 7 mile run/commute and an hour swimming.

Also: those of you near an REI store--their clearance is AWESOME. I got a new pair of running shoes yesterday for 64 bucks, normally 95. And I got a box+ of Cliff bars in holiday flavors (spiced pumpkin and iced gingerbread) for .03. Yes, THREE CENTS.

aephi alum 01-13-2009 11:35 PM

I slipped and fell yesterday and banged my shin (I hate winter!) so I'm taking that as a sign that I shouldn't even attempt walking/jogging outside until some of this ice goes away. (My city's snow/ice removal plan consists of waiting for April, so it'll be a while. It's not the cold I mind, it's the unintentional ice skating.)

Did some upper-body work today. I'm debating whether to hop on the stationary bike tomorrow... I haven't done cardio in a while, and my shin is bruised and a bit sore, but I think the biggest injury was to my pride.

KappaKittyCat 01-13-2009 11:51 PM

Yoga! I think I'm addicted.

AGDee 06-05-2009 05:53 PM

Congrats! I have not been able to work out this week between going away for the weekend, then coming down with the stomach flu which led to complications. I will be doing cardio today though.

I have lost 45.4 pounds since Christmas :)

WOW! I will hardly recognize you when I see you in a few weeks!

I'm running my first 10K in the morning. We'll see how it goes!

Good luck on the 10K!

I think I had gained about 15 or 20 pounds since we saw each other at Convention and Christmas, but I'm honestly not sure at this point what my weight was last year at this time, but I'm hoping to get another 5-10 off before our trip! Of course, I was originally thinking I'd lose that before I saw *him* but after our little spontaneous rendezvous last weekend, that didn't happen. However, sister, YOU are my inspiration. It didn't even really start out as a goal to lose weight, but to eat more healthy and work out regularly. Now that the weight is just falling off, it's hard not to think about weight loss goals. By next Convention though, I'm hoping nobody will recognize me :) The last time I lost this much weight, it was because I was very sick from the Crohn's (before it was diagnosed) and I lost a lot of muscle and bone density. THIS time, it's all because I'm healthy and it feels so different. I'm seeing real muscle definition and have so much more energy already. Ideally, I think I'd want to lose 60-70 more pounds. However, I'm just going to keep working out and eating the way I have been and see what happens. It's extremely difficult when you can't eat vegetables and the fruits and grains you can eat are limited. High protein/low carb is working well for me though!

Also, it has inspired my daughter to lose weight. She doesn't want me to weigh less than her, so we're kind of in a healthy competition with it. That also keeps me going because I want to inspire her too. She is doing Wii Fit and her dad is paying her $5 per pound lost up to $200!

ETA: I have always felt a little twinge of guilt during the part of the Purpose that says "To develop and prize health and vigor of body", so I'm hoping that I'll never have to feel guilty during that part again!

navane 11-26-2009 11:05 PM

I did a quick 15 minute walk around the neighborhood, which includes some nice-sized hills. Then, I did about 30 minutes of cardio-dance.

.....Kelly :)

honeychile 11-26-2009 11:23 PM

I walked the dog twice, and fell down my brother's looooong staircase once. Oh, I have to do laundry yet. That's as good as it's going to get today!

CutiePie2000 11-27-2009 03:16 AM

Did a heavy leg day at the gym, then a treadmill brisk walking for 45 minutes while reading the 2 newspapers.

lovespink88 07-15-2010 06:53 PM

Bump, because maybe if I see this more, I'll be motivated.

Just finished "Cardio Bootcamp" on Exercise TV (which is how I'm doing most work outs these days)...I hate running and I'm too broke for a gym membership. Also walked about a mile (not the usual 2.5 cause I got a ride to and from the el, lol).

ThetaPrincess24 07-15-2010 08:14 PM

1 hour of pilates reformer class and 1 hour of zumba class.

Smile_Awhile 07-15-2010 09:04 PM

Yoga today, and a dance class yesterday. I feel pretty good considering how sporadic my workouts have been since last summer.

IrishLake 07-15-2010 09:07 PM

i carried my kids from the car to the sitters front door, then i walked from my car to the office.

pshsx1 07-15-2010 09:27 PM

^^LOL

Danced for at least an hour as I do everyday.

dreamseeker 07-15-2010 09:51 PM

today i did lower body from abs down...then i did 35 mins of cardio while watching wipeout. the tv keeps me going...

i could use all the motivation so let's keep this thread going! plus, it sucks not being in shape while my brother parades around here with his Old Spice body.

Kevin 07-15-2010 10:30 PM

I had my first lesson with my new skate coach today. I don't necessarily *like* her but she gets really good work out of me so we'll give it a whirl.

There's a guy on oxygen in my neighborhood who runs his dog from a golf cart. Good lookin' chocolate lab. Those dogs need exercise to stay healthy. Mine runs 2 miles per day from the bike. Got her from a shelter, a lab mix, had been in a pen most of her life, never developed her muscles. She's come a long way.

how long did it take you to get her to that point? i tried taking my dog on one of my runs, but she gave up after like 3/4 of a mile.

ThetaPrincess24 07-16-2010 02:21 PM

I did an hour of Barre class (this equals 30 minutes of exercises on the ballet bar and 30 minutes of pilates matwork).
