I thought Ace sucked. So did Taylor, and he's usually one of my favorites.

Bucky was surprisingly good... but then country is his genre. I thought Kellie was terrible, but the judges loved her.

Everyone else was just okay for me. Country night was just not a good night for most of these kids. I have a feeling that Queen night won't be either...

It just took me a freaking hour to vote for Katherine twice! That was with redial/ speed dial too. :O If she gets kicked off I will be ma-ad.
Of course, I also voted for Chris and that took me a half hour to vote for him twice. I think I just lucked out on the second vote for him though.

As for tonight, I liked Katharine, Ace, Chris, Elliott and Kellie. Mandisa and Paris BLEW! Taylor was booooooooooring....Bucky was ok, but he's still Bucky and he's got to go.

Seriously, I'm expecting either Brian or Paul Rodgers to be the "coach". I'm almost hoping that it would be Brian, just to perhaps give us a slight chance that it could be tolerable.

JenMarie, if any of them tried "Flash" I would laugh until I cried. And then laugh some more. Laugh harder than I would with Ace singing IWTBF, complete with vacuum and curlers.

Newest rumor is that another upcoming theme week will be the music of PRINCE. I'm hoping it's an unfounded rumor, but for now it's a rumor.

I didn't like Ace at all this week. Blah. And Bucky still needs to leave, and so does Kellie. I don't think the last 2 were awful this week, but I'm so over them. BLAH!

I hope it's a rumor. NONE of them should be allowed to touch a Prince song!!! Why would he do the show? He said he hates the show, but his record label thought that it would increase his record sales if he coached the contestants and performed. Why would he need AI to sell records?:rolleyes:

Ok I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought her outfit choice was the most unflattering thing in the world. I swear she was wearing a cross between a couch from the 70s and Betty Ruble's dress.

If Kenny Rogers was being judged by Simon on his performance, I would think Simon would say it was horrendous. It was like he 'talked' the song instead of singing it.

I was thinking the same thing... lol, glad I wasn't the only one.

I am not down with the themes this year, it's really making me not want to watch. But there's nothing else good on.

I just told my mom about next week being Queen week, and she said she is "abhorred" by that decision, and is boycotting the rest of the season.

i'm guessing Mandisa's two weeks in a row of bad song choices hurt her. And unfortunately Bucky and Kellie the hicks have a fan base that Mandisa just didn't have.

I also wonder if Mandisa's bible thumping may have hurt her somewhat in some instances

I thought Kenny Rogers looked like someone impersonating Kenny Rogers. He looked BAD. Also, was he lip-synching? He was holding the microphone way down away from his face and all the contestants hold it right on their lips, yet he could be heard. I would have voted Kenny off. Time to retire, Buddy.

OK, so I wanted Bucky gone, but my next choice to go was Mandisa!!!!!!! YAHOOOOO!! Now get Bucky and Paris out the door and we'll have a TV SHOW! :D

I'm a sad girl tonight. Hopefully Barry Manilow picked up his phone and offered Mandisa that job. The girl can sing. I will so miss her--especially next week.

:( That is pitiful - she is an awesome singer & I don't have much of a dog left in this race now :( Unfortunately, I seriously wonder if her choice of outfit hurt her more than anything. This is a sad day. And yet Bucky, Paris, Ace, and Kelly are still going on and on... :o Let's just hope Chris pulls this one out!

See I would have thought people in various regions would have appreciated it... but sometimes she was a bit overbearing with it on tv. Nothing wrong with it to be really into your faith, but not everyone watching Idol is.

Sadness though. I didn't think she would win the whole thing, but not get voted off for 9th. But I won't put anything past the producers.

I was totally SHOCKED that Madisa was voted off!! I was listening to a local radio show this morning and they were talking about what Simon says ever year, and this year wasn't different. "An American Idol not only needs to sing like one, but look like one too." We definitely know what he thought of Mandisa looks from the beginning. I think that if that is true and the reason she got voted off, that’s pretty sad!!

I am still pulling for Chris, just like I have been from the beginning. I can't stand Kellie or Bucky!! I hope one of them gets voted off next week!!

I totally agree with all of your about Kenny Rogers. I thought his song was horrible and when all the judges were giving him a standing ovation at the end I could only imagine what Simon was thinking in his head. Probably looked like this :eek:

Bucky doing "Fat Bottomed Girls" is going to be fun. :) And Chris just got a bunch of points from me for doing Innuendo. I love that song and it's not one you hear very often. "The Show Must Go On" is another of my favorites and I think Paris can pull that off. (That's what I would have wanted Mandisa to do if she was still around!)

I wonder if they went to see We Will Rock You when they were in Las Vegas working with Barry Manilow. :) (Or maybe not. looks like it closed in Decemberish. :( )

Seriously. They basically said that just because it wasn't QUITE as terrible as they imagined it would be it was entertaining. I wasn't watching it, I was in another room, but the vocals were terrible. She was so off on many of the notes

Chris' song was awful and he sounded awful with it.

Queen songs are such a particular sound and fitting to their group. They just don't work with solo pop artists trying to cover them.

The themes really really suck this year.
