Isn't Frank the business?!

Keyshia Cole has some GREAT songs on this CD. I don't try to get crunk and all, but those other songs are good. The first single with Missy, #1 is GOOT (great), but songs like "I Remeber" and a song about getting my heart back and the one with Anthony Hamilton are great. I'm not mad I purchased this CD.

I picked up Rahsaan Patterson. I can't get past "Stop Breaking My Heart."

Picked up Chaka too. She's just a classic. I haven't listened to her, but it doesn't really matter....It's Chaka and supposedly it goes back to her "funk" days, so that in and of itself is enough for moi. :D

Jill's CD is great. Can't wait for her to go on tour, even though I saw her perform this material in the spring, this time, I'll be able to appreciate it. :D

i too picked up Keyshia Cole's CD and had a drive out of town on Saturday and ended up listening to the entire CD and it's good. I got it for the song with Missy and medium Kim, but the CD is good, and the song with anthony Hamilton is really good.

Yup pikced up Jilly from Philly too, and like you AKA2D I can't wait for her to go on tour and she better do her home town righteous.:D

AKA2D '91 09-30-2007 08:39 PM

Clarification: R. Patterson's CD is good. It's different. He's an amazing performer. The song I referenced above is so good, I can't go past that song.

i'm looking forward to getting Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings when it drops tomorrow (her band is the same band that Amy W. tours with), and i have to go back to get Chaka. With all this good music coming out at once, I haven't had a chance to listen to it all. What a wonderful problem to have!!!!

I'm feeling Keyshia Cole's CD. I liked the first one too though.

AKA2D '91 10-08-2007 10:20 AM

I'm listening to more of Keyshia than Jill. I am really suprised at Keyshia's effort. I liked some of the songs from the 1st CD, this is a GREAT sophomore project, IMO, where I like almost ALL of the songs, except #2. I can do without 2Short. :D

I still haven't listened to Chaka's.

Me too! She sounds more...mature on this CD. She still has the hood edge, but with a little more wisdom to it. I really like this CD.

I kinda like Trey Songz's CD too. There are a couple of cute songs on there. He reminds me of a young R-Kelly (in other words, nasty, lol).

LOL...that's my song!!! I like 2Oldimean2Short:D on the song...lol. I hate that darn last night song though....she just sounds out of tune to me...and puffy with his non rapping self...! But I have been listening to Keyshia a little more than Jill too.

I almost got Trey Songs CD but I got scared and couldn't do it....

Alicia Keys

Just got the new Alicia Keys, and I like it. Track #8 The Thing About Love is my joint. I had to play it three times in the car this morning. If you liked her previous albums you'll like this one.

Note: I picked mine up from Target who sells three versions: regular, Target exclusive, and a Fan Club exclusive. The exclusive versions comes with a DVD.

Oh Lord, here we go again with all the different versions...(hence the drama with Jill's cd) this is getting crazy...

Her CD is very nice! I've listened to it twice already.
I just picked up the regular. All those extra versions are just that...EXTRA!!!:D

I need to step up my game on my music. I need to get Keyshia Cole, Alicia, Angie Stone, Chrisette M., and I heard a little preview of Rashaun Patterson on BETJ and fell in love. I gotta get him too.

AKA2D '91 11-13-2007 11:24 PM

R. Patterson is GREAT!!!!!

Has anyone listened to the new Boyz II Men CD?

It's ok. Some of the songs I thought were great (All This Love, Just My Imagination), while others fell flat (Money, War, Got To Be There).

I would like a new CD from them with NEW music, though.

jitterbug13 11-15-2007 01:52 PM

Thanks txdiva! :) They did release new songs in Japan either last year or in 2005. They also released some new Christmas songs there as well. Amazon has them, but be prepared to pay about $40 since they are imported. You may want to check their official website to see if you can buy these albums or download then.

I'm going to Target in a few minutes to buy this and Alicia. I may let ya'll know how they are later in the day.

I downloaded Alicia last night from Itunes....I REALLY like maybe 4 songs and the rest not so much....not bad for 9.99 though.....

I just saw this earlier today. I can not believe that your least favorite song on Graduation is the one about Jigga.:p

Did go to Target and listened to both Alicia and BIIM. I liked Alicia and can see myself listening to that for the next few weeks (I refuse to listen to the radio here, because the stations suck! Santa, get me an XM radio for Christmas!). Besides No One, I liked Like You'll Never See Me Again, Go Ahead, Lesson Learned and I Need You.

I agree with txdiva on the Boyz II Men album. Some of the songs were great (I'm adding Ribbon in the Sky to the list) and others were so-so.

I agree. Just too much of her trying to moan & whine...Its stile better than liking just one song on the CD. Now if they woud just stop playing "No One" on the friggin radio.....

I bought Chrisette and Angie's on the same day and I bump Chrisette's more. It is an A+ CD for me. Angie's is a solid B. Again track 9 should have been left off of the CD totally.

Don't plan on buying Alicia Keys. I have her 2nd CD and never got into. Her first was a good production.

Good info. Actually, my coworker burned me a copy of Keyshia Cole and Alicia. Alicia's cd is just okay. Keyshia on the other hand - that girl brings it! Track number 5, "I Remember," that song is the TRUTH! I'm gonna have to go on and buy that to support her.

Now I gotta get Chrisette, Angie, and Rashaun.

You're right about Keyshia. I didn't think I was going to like it, but I listened to every song without skipping. That's rare for me these days.

And for the record, "I Remember...So Sad and Lonely" is on repeat in the vehicle. Oh she puts it down on that song.

Does anyone want to hear Janet's new song?

http://www.z100.com/pages/janetpremiere.html

ETA: I read on Entertainment Weekly that the ITunes version of Mary's new album will have an extra song. I recommend this for those who don't want to do through the same stuff that happened when Jill's album came out.

AKA2D '91 12-20-2007 09:37 AM

MJB is alright with me! :D

Fade Away
Grown Woman
Roses
Dayum near the entire CD are ON IT!
Just Fine has grown on me. I did need the video to like the song. I didn't understand what she was saying; but the lyrics are are on it as well!

Raheem DeVaughn's release date is Jan 15 (:D)

Did anyone get Jaheim's CD? Does he still have the cornrows?

I got the new Jaheim.. it is really good.. his voice sounds great. Good buy

I think his only problem is he doesnt have an interesting personality and need to work on his stage shows.

MeezDiscreet 12-20-2007 01:58 PM

Does Jaheim do shows? Not touring really hurts these singers' artistry. Ask Tamia.

RBL 12-20-2007 03:31 PM

I saw him at one in VA about 2 years ago..... it was quite painful how uncomfortable he looked. Brother can sing but he got to inject more life in his performances

He and LaToya Luckett were on tour with MJB for "The Breakthrough". I saw them in Memphis. Also, he was on the mainstage at Essence on year, I think '04. He doesn't have stage presence, but can sing.

Monica didn't tour either, she could have done so much more with her career. :(

I saw Tamia @ Essence on year too.

nikki1920 12-21-2007 09:16 AM

Monica may have been pregnant at that time. Did she have child #2 yet?

AKA2D '91 12-21-2007 05:44 PM

Monica wasn't preggers when Miss Thang and the 2nd CD came out. I don't think she did much touring early in her career, nor later.
