Ohhhjjenthal booed

Bwahahaha!!!

O.J. Simpson  was heckled mercilessly before he was escorted out of the National Sports Collectors Convention in Rosemont, Ill., on Saturday. Darryl Rivera, who captured some of the booing with his video camera, tells us, "People were yelling, 'Killer!' Another guy yelled out, 'Guilty!' " Simpson, who was asked to leave because he hadn't gotten prior approval from organizers to sign autographs, was hawking 8- by 10-inch photos of himself for $100 a pop — cash only. Rivera said Simpson was traveling with several "good-looking blond women."

While I am no O.J. fan, by any stretch of the imagination, it bothers me that people are still booing him, etc. over the death of his wife and her homie, lover, friend. I mean, it's been 11 years and in Illinois of all places. no one in Cali cares anymore...move on...

Steeltrap 08-03-2005 11:56 AM

^^
It's also old, but the wider society still thinks he got away with something and won't let it go. Look at how some Vietnam veterans still get their draws in a bunch over Jane Fonda, although it's been well over 30 years.

O.J. is sorry!

What makes him think he will eventually get LOVE AGAIN...lol now thats funny... After all someones mother, daughter, sister, friend was MURDERED! ....DANG,,,I wouldn't show his sorry but any love either! If you ever had someone killed in your family, it does not just go away because of timing or because you want it to....PAIN IS PAIN, especially murder of a loved one. If I saw him I'd boo him too. Sorry $%&.

Other than that ....lol he was a great sportsman.:D

Never mind the very pastel gentleman Mrs. Combs is with. I just can't believe that her beloved son hasn't got her a stylist. SMH.

Forgive me if I seemed insensitive. I don't want to come off that way. I have had the experience of having family members killed (just recently a a matter of fact) and of course I don't expect the Brown's nor the Goldman's to show him love but per what ST said (people think he got away with murder)...these same people aren't really "involved" with the whole situation, are they? Most likely not. No one booed Johnny Cochran (RIP) or his 'Dream Team" for defending the sh^% out of him and basically getting him off. He's the product of that "the people." "They" made him and now boo him? I don't think a large portion of the crowd were Black. I don't think we really care that much and there are a lot who felt justice was done...or at least payback.

End of the day, who cares? I was stating my opinion but wanted to clear up that I am not being insensitive...I just know it was a media circus and now it's over but "they" keep trying to rehash OJ hatred for no apparent reason...the blonde haired women have obviously forgiven him and continue to give him love, so someone has moved on...

I can always count on you to say what I am thinking!

I also think she needs to stop trading wigs with Victoria Gotti.

ETA: WTH is with his belt? It looks awful.

WenD08 08-04-2005 04:11 PM

maybe it's just me but she looks like his "beard". also, since Lil' Kim is headed to the "big house", will P Momma keep a vigil for her by continuing to sport Lil' Kim's look?

Steeltrap 08-04-2005 04:17 PM

Actually, she does look like his beard, but I don't suspect that the gentleman likes his beards dark. :p

I've seen pix of him and his boyfriend -- they are New York Social Diary regulars.

jitterbug13 08-04-2005 05:22 PM

I've seen Lil' Kim's mom and she dressed nothing like her (gold hair, flashy clothes, etc.

Maybe Lil' Kim and Diddy can switch moms...if they are back on speaking terms.

Wha???? Must be a SLOW fashion week if that is on the best dressed list!

As bad as she looks, sadly this is better than her average look.

It must have been slow. I like NYSD generally, but some of those people on the list today (http://www.nysocialdiary.com) just have me  There's one guy who is wearing pink and green brocade. A MAN.

Soror WenD08, it's fairly interesting as a fashion research tool. Only mildly diverse, though. (Susan Fales Hill appears a bit, so do folx like Soror Starruh and BGA, Wynton Marsalis, etc.)

Eddie Murphy to divorce

August 5, 2005
ET has learned that EDDIE MURPHY and his wife, NICOLE, are divorcing after 12 years. Nicole filed the petition for divorce Friday morning in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences.

Murphy released the following statement to ET: "The welfare of our children is our main concern and their best interest is our first priority." The couple has four daughters and one son.

News of the split has stunned many in Hollywood, as DONALD TRUMP told ET exclusively: "I feel very badly for both of them. They're both wonderful people and I wish both of them well."

Actress SHERYL LEE RALPH, who attended the couples' 1993 wedding, said she was "shocked." "I'm so deeply sorry for the two of them, but especially for the children because in divorce no one hurts as much as the children. And it's in small ways that you sometimes just don't see ... I'm praying for all of them and I'm so sorry because I remember their wedding day and all of the beauty and care that went into that day."

Signed to "Saturday Night Live" when he was just 19 years old, the now 44-year-old actor is known for hits like 'Beverly Hills Cop,' 'The Nutty Professor,' 'Dr. Dolittle' and more recently as the voice of Donkey in the 'Shrek' films.

Exactly! A woman can only take so much of the "fixed" marriage situation. After 12 years and she's still cute (although a bit masculine looking, herself) I guess she figured get out while she still has a chance AND can break the bank...4 kids and his career is back on with the kids' movies...

Are you serious?

Just when one thinks that Mike Tyson's career has hit rock bottom, it plunges a little farther toward the earth's molten core. Published reports say Tyson intends to star in a porn film with Jenna Jameson. A British magazine quoted the former champ as saying that he was approached by one of Jameson's representatives to doff his boxing trunks. Tyson is apparently demanding money up front to help with his massive debts. According to the story, that's not the only thing massive about Tyson. We can't say any more in this family Web site, so please check out the story. Still, we hope that Iron Mike will work under the name Buck Naked.

Ok, see I wasn't gonna say naythen, but my mom's friend (who is gay and hang out alot in LA) claims on the "gay circuit" out there, that Nicole is actually a man and the children are really by his/her (Nicole/Nicholas) sister.

Dang. That' s some juicy info. I could actually kinda almost see that because has anyone seen their 5 (I said 4 before but I guess they have 5 children together) children? They don't look like her at all. I mean I am sure Eddie's genes are strong but to have a light-skinned mom WITH the curly hair AND the green eyes and none of the kids look like Lil Bow Wow and sh$% (I know, but I had to) baffles me. That coupled with the fact that every tiem he/she has a baby, two hours after he/she "gives birth" he/she looks TOTALLY AWESOME!!! I mean dang!!!

I wouldn't doubt it...really. L.A. is a strange place at times...most of the time...awe hell ALL THE TIME! If she is a man then her surgeon is the BOMB because she looks GREAT in these photos.

NC Soror celebrates 100th birthday

Editor's note: "100 Candles" is an occasional Herald-Sun feature about people who are 100 or older. If you know someone celebrating a triple-digit birthday in the Durham area, please call us at (919) 419-6630 or send an e-mail to news@heraldsun.com with contact information.

Dozens of friends gathered Saturday at St. Joseph's AME Church to celebrate the 100th birthday of longtime Durham elementary school teacher Addie Marie Faulk.

Faulk, who lives at the Brian Center on Fayetteville Road, has been an active member of the church for more than half her life, serving for decades as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent and an active member of the Ladies Aid Club and Lay Organization.

The only child of Hiram and Auzulia Faulk, "Marie" was born in Hertford, N.C., started grade school in Wilson and later attended school in Henderson before coming to Durham to attend the Durham State Normal School (now N.C. Central University). Normal schools were two-year institutions established to train elementary school teachers.

After completing her teacher education, Faulk taught in several North Carolina communities before returning to Durham in 1931 to begin her 39-year commitment to teaching at Lyon Park School. During those early teaching years Faulk took continuing education courses, earning her a bachelor's degree in 1941 from the school, which by that time was called North Carolina College for Negroes.

She was never married.

By the time she retired in 1971, she had taught hundreds of people who have made significant contributions to Durham and beyond. Tributes were offered during Saturday's celebration by some of her former students, including Eunice Sanders, now principal at Hillside High School.

She's been affiliated for more than 50 years with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and has been an active volunteer with the YWCA, Duke University Hospital and Lincoln Hospital -- the black hospital that was merged with Watts Hospital to ultimately become Durham Regional Hospital.

"She has been truly blessed all her life," said friend and sorority sister Janeen Grammage who, with her sorority colleagues, met monthly at Faulk's home for Sunday lunch and lively discussions until Faulk moved into the Brian Center.

Though she now uses a wheelchair, Faulk is still an avid reader and has good hearing and eyesight, said Grammage. So she still carries on lively discussions in her Brian Center residence.

 Wasn't Nicole in an expensive portrait when she was pregnant with one of their children and they showed it on Oprah? I would really hate to think that they would doctor her up by using pillows or something. I alway thought is was odd that she could stay so small after each child. But I guess money can do that.
