It won't be cramped for long. Diddy is going CUT some of those non dancing folks with a quickness.

CrimsonTide4 10-07-2005 10:28 AM

It was great, however, to see Andre Harrell getting a paycheck again.

Yeah, but I don't think Andre Harrell is hurting by any means. But on another note who is Doc Holliday and why does he remind of Verdeen White of EWF.

I doubt that he was hurting for money either but it is nice to see him working actively again in the music business. Roles are reversed this time with him working for Shiddy now.

Finally watched it today. It's gonna get UGLY, UGLY, UGLY!! And I'm going to be there to watch every moment. Don't have any favs yet, but Andre H. needs to get rid of the Sylvia Weinstock glasses. Sylvia makes super expensive wedding cakes for the rich and famous.

I liked Dominique - the one who lost the 11 lbs and could really sing.

I want her to go far. I'm on another board with a girl who lives next door to Dominque in her dorm.

Malike and nem got the big head. I really can't stand that Aubrey chick. I hope she doesn't make it.

Looks like it's gonna be a good season.

I agree. The girls from last season are waaay too cocky. They are in for some real competition this time.

Dear Malika,

You cannot sing.

Sincerely,
Me

tazzyboo21 10-08-2005 02:34 PM

I think that this season is going to be juicy. The competition is really good this time and Diddy is gonna cut people left and right.

Watching and waiting for next weeks show.

Oh cool!

I think Aubrey will last for a minute - I think Diddy "likes" her. If anything, I think he'll cut the other 2 because neither of them can sing as good as the girls he just got - and Malika is a weak dancer, --- unless Aubrey does something stupid, like ----->. I was trying to discern - what was with the photo shoot with Aubrey? Remember - Sarah made the same mistake - trying to be a solo artist and set up shoots & interviews. He's already said he's not looking for that.

PHA_luv 10-09-2005 10:17 AM

I think this season is going to be great as well

If I was one of the returning three girl I would be laughing at the ones that were sucking up to me, because the last time I checked Diddy was the one making all the decisions on who was staying in the band, not them. Also if all of your attention is on me, then your mind isn't even in the competition and bettering your self so chances are that you could be cut.

Conskeeted7 10-09-2005 01:55 PM

I think Puff Daddy appreciates how serious Malika is taking the competition, but I don't think she really has it. Her dancing is mediocre and her voice leaves much to be desired. I want her to prove me wrong though. She seems like a good person.

Aubrey is annoying, but she does have the look.

lostnfound117 10-10-2005 02:45 PM

Why do people always have to resort to being skankish? Hopefully she was cut.

eyestotheSKY 10-10-2005 06:06 PM

First i just want to say HELLO to everyone on this board. I've been viewing the site for a while and today I decided to join. Anyway back to the subject, this season of Making Da Band is really going to be intresting. The funny thing about it is that I went to high school with one of the girls in the house. So I'm cheering for JASMINE to make it all the way. Go girl!

MeezDiscreet 10-10-2005 08:26 PM

aubrey is in baaaaad need of popeye's 3 piece special with red beans & rice, an extra biscuit, 2 apple pies, a slice of mardi gras cheesecake, a shrimp po'boy with cajun fries, etoufee and a coke...

That sounds so good.:( :( :o

Am I the only person who finds Diddy's "dance like a Black girl" comments a bit offensive? Because you know us black folk can all dance real good.

PHA_luv 10-10-2005 11:29 PM

I'm watching that now & I don't personally find it offensive, I was wondering if anyone that wasn't black would feel that way.

I wasn't offened. In fact I fell out of my chair laughing when they did a close up of his face and he was looking at the camera like "yeah, I said it."

I think what he means is that they shouldn't dance like Britney Spears, with all the arm movements and stuff.

No, you are not the only one. It is a stupid statement. Couple those comments with the one he made last season about how the Black and Latino women are a "disgrace" to their respective races because they can't dance. What kind of mess is that?!?

Sidenote: For some reason, Malika reminds me of Vivica Fox.

I wasn't offended either. I would've been offended if I was one of those black girls that he told shoulda had their "blackness" card pulled so to speak. :o

Maybe her voice and facial expressions, mostly her voice though. ;)

AKA2D '91 10-12-2005 08:02 AM

Malika reminds me of Jasmine Guy.

I think the trio from last season DO NOT HAVE A CHANCE. :o

ESPECIALLY Malika and the one girl who looks like she all of 12.

Aubrey has a voice, she's kind of like a cleaner, less flea-ridden version of Christina Aguilera. I do want somebody to knock her off her high horse.

CrimsonTide4 10-13-2005 10:09 PM

Malika and Aubrey sound like warmed up poo.:p But Malika sounds worse. I think she is going home tonight because I did not see her in any of the "coming this season" scenes.

Tickled Pink 2 10-13-2005 10:56 PM

You can tell Malika and Aubrey have not been practicing. But Aubrey knows how to step it up. Malika was feeding off of Dominique.

Unfortunately, I think Malika will eventually go home.

lostnfound117 10-13-2005 11:51 PM

OH GOD! My ears are still hurting from that garbage tonite. Ok, being a singer, I just didn't have any sympathy for Malika. If she's made it to that level, then harmonizing, blending and finding your part is just something that's innate. You dont have two weeks to try to get it together. Gosh, them being off key and singing each other's parts drove me bananas. http://www.siyclone.com/forum//style...osecontrol.gif

I don't know, I still don't feel Aubrey. She was screaming and stuff. But, you guys are right, she does have the look. The singers who stuck out to me were: Dosha ( I can't remember her name but Aubrey felt she was being bossy) and chick who stayed but the rest of her group went home.

OMG! You know, I'm no CeCE Winans or anything, but I can harmonize & was like - just sing the frickin' part! I kept singing her part for her. I've never heard of that crap - you can sing - but you can't harmonize - and it'll take 2 wks to learn how to do it? Hello??? You knew you were going out for a band - practice your harmony. And - I felt like she lied because she harmonized just fine when they were singing "Let's go" - Remember? --> "Move yo body, Shake yo body, gettin' naughty naughty..."

Bottom line? She got the big head during the break and didn't practice. And she can keep looking pleadingly @ Diddy all she wants, (I don't know what's up w/ dat), but he's gonna cut her cute and quick.

CrimsonTide4 10-14-2005 06:19 AM

Yeah the whole lack of harmonizing astounded me as well. If you are a singing, harmonizing should be almost as natural as a la la la.

LnF, I think her name is Denosh.

The one who stands out to me in a good way is Dominique.

Diddy had Malika shook. She was sweating. I never noticed her aged appearance until this season but she is the same age as me and I can still pass for 25. :p She can't unless a guy trying to mack. :p

Oh and when Aubrey first started singing Lady Marmelade, I almost had to drive to Home Depot to get an axe to hack my TV in half.

AKA2D '91 10-14-2005 08:09 AM

Dominique is a strong contender vocally. However, I don't know if her "look" will keep her on the show. I suggest she try another hairstyle that appeals to her face.

Was anyone eliminated? I paid more attention to my phone conversation than the tele.

Yeah, what Soror Tickled Pink 2 said.

^Like a pack of hyenas. Bless their hearts. :o

Aubrey is gonna confront the wrong girl one day and it's gonna be on AND popping. :D

Did ya'll peep when her "group" was singing on the street and she tried to step out front? Denosh grabbed a hold of her arm and pulled her back in with the group like "naaah, player...it aint even going down like that." :D

I'm beginning to think some of the girls are dressing in the dark. One of the girls Diddy cut had on some kind of bikini top and her denim skirt rested precariously atop (might have been a little below) her pelvic bones. Ugh!
