Time for a new group :)

Tri Delta at UNC took 50 with at least 6 being legacies! Quota was 38 freshman and 11 upperclassmen. This was the first time we used an upperclassmen quota. Hopefully the kinks with that will work itself out!

I found out last night that Adelphi's Campus Total is 50.

Also, I stumbled across Adelphi's yearbook archives recently and found out that Phi Sigma Sigma & Iota Alpha Pi both closed in 1971. Delta Phi Epsilon first closed in 1941 and reopened in 1958 before closing again in 1971.

In our DG results thread, UHDEEGEE posted that Arizona State pledged 77. Now, I'm not sure if that means we snapped that many women or what. UHDEEGEE gets her results from emails the Regional team sends so the numbers are pretty reliable.

psusue 09-09-2011 12:35 PM

I just saw this, but Penn State's campus total is now 90, not 85. I will post updates about quota and hopefully as many chapter results as I can when they're available.

Zeta Tau Alpha made quota of 60 at Georgia Southern. Go Zeta!!!

irishpipes 09-10-2011 10:37 AM

Regarding Arizona State: many chapters snapped additional members. The numbers I posted were the official Innova numbers before snaps. This illustrated the results of changing the pref party schedule as well as using a higher quota number than originally anticipated. For those familiar with ASU, some historically strong recruiting chapters missed quota due to these issues.

tigerrawr* 09-10-2011 02:11 PM

quota at texas state was only 59 not 69...

And, Yay for our 70 beautiful new baby xi's!!!

tigerrawr* 09-10-2011 02:14 PM

Oh, and chapter total (or campus total i guess) is 120.
We're also currently looking into extension, but we'll see how that goes this next week at Panhellenic and All Greek meetings.

greekalum 09-10-2011 04:12 PM

So at Arizona State, the traditionally strong recruiting chapters maybe only had, what, 2x quota or less at their prefs? And then the PNMs mostly had one extra house on their pref list, and not enough put those traditionally strong recruiting chapters 1st, but a bunch didn't wind up high enough on the bid lists of the chapters they had which did make quota? I'm just trying to understand how the math works- it doesn't make sense, to me, to have quota so high and so many chapters not make it if quota is determined by the # of women attending pref.

DubaiSis 09-11-2011 01:30 AM

It makes sense if a group of strong chapters are all fighting for the same girls, and those girls all went one way instead of being divvied up 3 or 4 ways. They inadvertantly made some bad cuts early, but who's to know that at the time?

DG at Arizona State took 55 women for quota then snap bidded 22 women. The entire snap bidding process wasn't followed as NPC suggests so DG had almost exclusive use of the list.

Were they under total? If they're under total they can give bids to whomever they want without "use of the list."

In other words, were these really snaps or were they COB bids?

Quota range was originally estimated to be 62-68 women so I'm assuming that the numbers brought back into Preference were based on that number, not 77 women. As for placement rate, it was 82% this year vs. 83% last year BUT instead of 3 chapters not making quota as was the case last year, 5 chapters didn't make quota.

No DG was not under total, these were definitely snap bids because almost every chapter at ASU's campus is at total with the exception of probably three chapters since it is 125. Interestingly, even chapters who are at total and didn't make quota are being allowed to COB to quota.

Every chapter is allowed to bid to quota even if it puts them over total.
