Love Purple, Live Gold!

I knew not to believe anything until you hear it from the horses mouth, especially after the last time! It kept annoying me that ESPN was practically putting him on the plane to Michigan last night. I guess they wanted to report something even if it was made up. Yay, I LOVE Coach Miles!! Anyway, he did say the grass tastes best in Tiger Stadium! :p

He met with the folks from Michigan last night, so ESPN was right about that.

Yeah, he did, but that didn't mean he was taking the job like they said. I bet he met with them since it was his alma mater. I also suspect he gave them tips about who he thought would be good for the job. Les told his players that afternoon that he wasn't leaving. He's not been known in the past to be a liar, so I didn't think he'd blantantly tell them a lie in this situation.

Hoping he turns things around! He certainly knows the state and the area well and has Michigan experience :)

Oh...no problem. I meant they had him moving his family to Ann Arbor, but I guess you've figured that out by now. Hopefully Brady Hoke can help resurrect the glory of Michigan's football program.

RIP Uga VIII

http://blogs.ajc.com/uga-sports-blog...uga-viii-dies/

He was only 17 months old and was just last season named the mascot because Uga VII died suddenly.

Wow. Looks like they are using the same bloodlines as the original Uga. Maybe it's time to venture into healthier stock.

UGA Coach Pays Tribute to Deceased HS Player

http://blogs.ajc.com/georgia-high-sc...otball-player/

Player had written to Coach Richt about wanting to join the UGA football team as a walkon but was died in an accident shortly afterwards. Richt added his name to the UGA roster and gave the family a UGA jersey.

Go, Richt!:D

It may be interesting to see what, if anything, happens as this story / these findings unfold.

Tressel Resigns

http://www.ajc.com/sports/ohio-state...ll-962080.html

Shoulda done it before!

IrishLake 05-30-2011 10:36 AM

I'm not a huge OSU fan, but.... man, this sucks. Tressel just seemed like such a good guy. He never should have tried to sweep this under the rug. What a waste.

Oh well, he'll do great in the NFL!

Kappamd 05-30-2011 11:21 AM

It's about time. Resigning was the best thing he could have done for the OSU football program.

Mark my words, Urban Meyer will be the coach in 2012.

als463 05-30-2011 02:27 PM

I think it's relevant to point out that I graduated from a school that HATES Ohio State but, I do have many OSU friends. As an Alumna of a Big Ten university, I recognize how much this sucks for everyone involved.

Maybe I'm in the minority but, I can't help but, think...SO WHAT? Okay-Okay...he swept it under the rug...but, really? Who cares what other people think? He should just stay where he's at. This sucks for all Buckeyes...:(

TonyB06 05-31-2011 09:33 AM

Sad to see what happened with Jim Tressel and the OSU program. Dude made mistakes trying to protect his kids, and who hasn't, but his program's situation came to light. It is what it is.

I wish him best in the future, he's a good man. And thanks, Coach Tressel, for a 9-1 record of dominance over Michigan. That will always bring a smile. :)

Sincerely,
BuckeyeNation
