Just heard from my daughter....she was invited back to every sorority for philanthropy day. Talk about relief! She sounds good, had been to 2 parties already, had a lunch break, then back for more. She'll finish up about 10 tonight then do her picks. She's already said she feels like tomorrow the cuts will be heavier, so hopefully she's bracing herself for tomorrow morning, because as we all know, there is no perfect rush. If I get to talk to her when she gets home tonight, I'll have a better idea of how she feels about each one, so I can update tomorrow. Sounds like all her friends had good days today too, so that helps!

On another note, my Bama girls are doing ok. None of them had a full round of parties, but all got invited back to the ones they liked, so no huge disappointments there!

I heard from my daughter today before the Philanthropy parties began. She was so thrilled that she got back 11 invites. After all I've heard about recruitment at Bama, we were relieved. And yes, i do know it's only the first cut. I've told her to stay positive throughout the entire week and it'll work out the way it's supposed to. :D

Hang in there uamomma! Sounds like your daughter is having a good time! As for mine, they went this morning to get their schedule for skits. I won't know until she gets a break for lunch who she's going back to. It could possibly be tonight, but gosh, I sure hope not! She didn't get back to her dorm last night until after 11, so it was a really long day for her, and she had to be ready by 9:30 this morning. I just keep telling myself no news is good news :) I know she has one favorite, but honestly, I think she would like any of the ones she kept after yesterday. And by the way, her favorites kind of flip flopped, so they'll probably change again after today. I'll post when I hear something.

Hearing so much news on everyone is making me horribly impatient, alas the day we actually 'sign up' for my informal is Saturday and it all actually starts on Sunday so...'tis close.

I definitely know how you feel. I'm about to go crazy preparing for recruitment.

The problem is, I COB'ed through informal recruitment -- so I've never even seen recruitment from the PNM's side! The only thing I know is from GC. :o

OK...quick update: I didn't hear anything from my daughter until 11:30 last night. That's right...for basically 2 days, the party schedule she has gotten does not allow her enough time to get back to the dorm to call, much less eat. Needless to say, she is very tired! Yesterday was skit day...4 parties, she went back to 3 that she really likes, one that she hasn't really warmed up to. She seemed very happy! There were lots of cuts (several direct legacies that I heard of), lots of broken hearts yesterday, including my daughter's to some degree. I'm sure there were deeper cuts last night, and there will be more broken hearts today. Now, they go back after lunch today to get Pref invitations. They have to stay until they finish their last party which could be early, middle afternoon or 8 tonight. Keep your fingers crossed, say a prayer, do a good luck dance, and send me some cyber valium :) The waiting is killing me! I'll send updates as I hear.
