19 Minutes. It's on the New York Times Bestseller list. Number 1 I think. I read it. Good book. She really goes into detail and you honestly start to question everything. Your own thoughts and morals. You question why people are allowed to treat others this way. It's a good read but you really have to be in the right mindset to read it.

With that being said, right now would probably not be the best time. In her story, the shooter survives and she goes into detail of the torment the person put up with. As a person it horrified me and as a teacher I was beyond appalled. And it was a book!

But I highly recommend it. Awesome book.[/end mini-hijack]

Agree with everything you said there about the book,,,,

Yes but you can say that about any sort of media really. And there really isn't any sign of causation between video games and violence even with people who already have mental issues.

Very true, but there is a big difference between watching people on a screen shoot up people and actually "shooting them" in a game.

I am not saying that it might be a cause, I'm just syaing it doesn't help if someone is already off.

I want to clarify, the pi phis that I know of are ok. No one is unaccounted for that I know of. Thats why I am hesitant in posting because things get mixed up.

That's super good to know that they're okay.
Coz earlier I was thinking "oh my..." when I was reading this : http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18138907/site/newsweek/ since about half-way down the page, it said that one of the girl's classmate's Pi Phi sisters was shot.

That's good. I was wondering if they had a chapter there.

My thoughts and prayers for eveyone at Virginia Tech -- their families and friends. May the peace of a loving God surround them and comfort them at this time.

ZetaPhi708 04-17-2007 12:50 AM

Anyone have any word yet on any brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha chapter there?

Nothing is posted on our website or our online magazine.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by this tragedy.

If I find out anything, I will post it here.

Don't forget to wear Virginia Tech colors to school/work tommorow if you can! Maroon and Orange.

I totally don't see the purpose of that.

Through the rumor mill, I've been told that a Kappa lost her life.

DaffyKD 04-17-2007 02:06 AM

According to a message I received from Kappa Delta's National Office, the President of the VT KD chapter reports that all sisters are safe and accounted for. They are doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances.

Thanks for updating us on the Kappa Deltas. With no message on our website I was beginning to really worry.

This whole thing is so upsetting. All those promising young lives taken for no reason. My thoughts are with their families and friends.
