I have been reading a lot of negative things about multi-level marketing. All companies are not using "pyramid schemes" in direct sales. It is a perfectly legitimate form of getting products to customers without the high costs of distributing, advertising, and retailing. I personally own an Arbonne business that allows me to share products with other people that will allow them to live longer healthier lives. I do not push products on my recruits and this is not a pyramid because the I really do spend time giving them valuable training so they can successfully replace their income by working from home. The real pyramid schemes are the corporations. Hello, the CEO is making money off of thousands of peoples work...not to mention it's a good ole boy network. You don't get ahead in the corporate world by working hard. You get ahead by kissing major butt.
I am not pushy at all. I just really believe the products will help people so it's natural for me to talk to people about them.
I think the key to MLM is to find products that you really believe in and love. Don't people recommend their favorite TV shows, songs, stores, foods, restaurants, etc..., to others all the time. Why shouldn't I get paid for being a walking advertisement?

Please share the stats where your products have been proven to do just that. Have these findings ever been published in the New England Journal of Medicine?

Not that I am aware of. I recently read a book called "the Maker's Diet" by Jordan Rubin and saw a film called "do no harm..." and, after my personal experiences with doctors, do not really have a lot of faith in the medical establishment at this time. I'm not saying that doctors are bad people. It's just that most of them have been trained to give us drugs. I was battling Chronic Fatigue Syndrome when I read the book by Jordan and his incredible story about having almost died from Chrone's Disease in his early 20's. He goes to our church as well so it's common knowledge that his story is true. He tried regular doctors, alternative medicines and remedies for years and almost died. His diet is awesome and healthy and I have lost 15 pounds because it helped me get over my chronic fatigue syndrome. This lead to me look for healthier alternatives for make-up, shampoo, deodorant and more, which lead me to this company. Period. Is my company the only one that offers these products? Absolutely not. You can get them wherever you want...but you should get skincare and cosmetics from a company that does not use mineral oils (from crude oil) and that does not base their formulas on chemicals.
I highly recommend the book, which is based on the Old Testament...and in no way profit from its sales ladies;)

Oh, I did forget the nanosphere technology that we use in our skin care and supplements. This technology breaks down elements to their molecular level to ensure they can be delivered to the places they need to go. Wow, are you one of those crazy Mary Kay ladies who puts self-help quotes on all surfaces of your homes? I've seen several who do that. They have no friends. They defintiely terrify me.

Oh, and we have 161 licensed medical doctors carrying our products that I know of from our team...40 are right here in Palm Beach County...OBGYN's and Dermatologists.
I don't think they are purchasing much poison ivy.
I also love people who think their little quips are so brilliant. It's easy to throw out little one liners...much harder to actually do your homework.

I have never had anything to do with Mary Kay. I think the stuff sucks personally. But that's just my opinion.
Sorry to hear that your friends are so weird though. I don't think I've ever seen self help quotes pasted all over someone's wall. However, it's interesting to judge someone you've never seen over the internet. I picture you with a cigarette and some curlers in a moo-moo with husky man voice.

This thread was so funny to me so I had to share.
I used to dislike MK due to a really bad experience with a director. I've always wanted to own my own business so I had a problem with having Mary Kay's name pinned on my chest. I couldn''t see making MK richer. Now if Mary Kay (the owner) and I were going to be bringing in the same kind of money then we could talk.

This director was obnoxious, rude and pushy. I don't like pink cars and at the time that's all they were offering. Personally I like BMWs (black at that!) All of this I told her at a meeting.

It would be 10 years later that I would meet another MK director in a different state who was the complete opposite. She's had about 4 MK cars as well. She was going through a lot with her husband so she wasn't really out recruiting and selling product. She had a lot of product.

I told her it's all in how you look at the situation. To me it didn't make sense to buy all of that product and then let it sit on the shelf and go bad. So we sat up all night for 3 nights in a row going through product, creating a customer database and marketing materials compliments of those MK brochures and some excellent graphics software. She is now my business partner.

If you're a retailer you can buy product at wholesale. MK is really no different. It can not be denied that there are some people who are LOYAL to MK products. As a business owner you'd have to be a fool not to cash in on that market. These customers don't care if you're a director or whatever. Just deliver.

We sell customized gift baskets. We use MK products, Avon products, products we purchase from other wholesalers, etc. We mostly target major holidays. Our biggest sales are on Christmas, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.


The money we spend on buying MK product is pocket change in comparison to the money we make from the product. We include other items in the baskets such as purses, other perfume samples, chocolates, roses, flowers, cards, scented candles, CDS, elegant keepsake basket, etc. You do the math: $150-$200 per basket times 100+ a day times a minimum of 7 days during the holidays mentioned above.

Our clients are businesses, executives, schools, etc. We also have lower priced baskets for individuals who just want a simple birthday or baby/bridal shower gift. So this is a business we don't even have to work everyday. The first Christmas we were in business we sold completely out!

Guess who our number 1 customers are? #1 Men (mostly executives) #2 Highschool boys trying to impress highschool girls especially at Valentine's (Most of their baskets are sold at $10-$20. We use money from this business to fund our other businesses and buy product, etc.

So my advice is to not get caught up in the hype. I stuck to my guns and found a way to make my dreams a reality. I didn't let that sales director hoodwink or discourage me. You see MK really isn't bad it's just like life in general it's what YOU make it.
