From Wikipedia: "On July 7, 2006, Facebook allowed users to create and join "global groups" with people in any network. This allowed students to be in (non corporate sponsored groups) transversing different schools for the first time."

From the FB login home page (when you sign in): "Make Groups with Anyone on Facebook: Now you can make and join global groups with people in any network."

I saw this today and I am EXCITED! YAHHHH!! More networking!!

Cocaine (Insert facebook!) is a hayle of a drug!

I have a facebook account. I dont find Facebook the slightest bit interesting. But I can see its appeal for many. What I dont get is why do college educated women post porno like pictures. I was eating sherbert and scrolling through Facebook when I came upon a chick who's stretch marks had stretch marks.
<insert vomit smilie here>

UGGGH

I’m on facebook and it definitely can be addictive. I was late joining though b/c I no longer had a school e-mail address since I had graduated but I finally figured out how to create an alumni account. Most schools will provide an alumni e-mail address to graduates.

New changes: Your take?

Alright; I figured I'd resurrect this thread in light of all of the recent changes. What do you like? What do you dislike?

When I logged on the other morning, I was like, "WHOA!" Talk about T.M.I.! I looked up the update description on Wikipedia shortly after, and they mentioned how they had turned off the Facebook blog comments feature since it got flooded with complaints. :p It's very "busy" now more than ever, that's for sure. The one thing I do like is that you can maximize/minimize the different sections on your "My Profile" page. I've been suggesting from the get-go that they do that (given that *my* profile is a bit lengthy)...glad they finally got around to doing it. :D

So, what are your $0.08 worth?

The new changes are annoying! I am not really wanting to know all that information about the people who are my friends. The facebook is now a confirmed match making website but its still not as bad as myspace.

OMG!! When I logged on yesterday I was so confused. I couldn't even find my own photo album!! I hate it. When I logged on today the first thing I saw was a new group created to protest the newsfeeder. I joined :D It has something like 354,000 members already lmao!!

MeezDiscreet 09-06-2006 08:36 PM

i don't like it either. i have absolutely no desire to know when my friends get friends or write on people's walls, etc. it's overly-stimulating

Yup; it's "Greekchat" (just do a simple search for it). :) It's also in desperate need of a picture (I *HATE* seeing that tacky-a$$ blue question mark!!! ).

PrettyGirl03 09-12-2006 11:13 AM

I'm on there, but am not addicted to it like others. It's kinda' boring...lol

I agree. The changes are ridiculous. Especially the Live Feed feature. My home page just looks crowded and disorganized.I'm not anyone's mother so I'm not preoccupied with knowing what groups my friends join or who've they just accepted as friends. And I don't know too many moms who are preoccupied with that at their age.
It still has a while to go before its a fullblown myspace and I've heard they are going to allow non-collegians to create profiles. Its all too much really.

sigtau305 09-13-2006 11:38 AM

I'm on both Facebook and myspace. feel free to P.M. me if you want to be added on my friends list.

FYI

I just wanted to let memberfriends know that there is a global facebook group called "Future Alpha Kappa Alpha (A.K.A.)". It was created by a highschool student and it looks like no one has said anything to them yet.

ETA: There are a couple "future delta" groups as well.
