I know you're not volunteering (yet!) but that would be so lovely if you did! I think all point-of-views are an interesting read!

i've been having a lot of anxiety about whether or not i want to rush. i was SET on the idea, and now a bunch of other factors are just making me think about the pros and cons. this isn't necessarily a bad thing, because at least in the end i will know that whatever my decision is, it was thought out properly. anyway, what i really MEANT to say was that whenever i have my doubts about rushing, they are eliminated the minute i get on to GC and see all the good stories and supportive people. i just thought i'd share that.

hah, and another thing...on the "pro" list i have going in my head, one of the reasons i should rush is so i won't let ya'll down with the lack of my personal perspective of LSU rush! 'cause i know it's going to be interesting, and i know you LOVE your rush threads =)

Yay!!!!!!!!!! I got my Greek Life Introduction mailer yesterday!!! I read it cover to cover. Can't wait to register and start the whole process. The book has all the $$ figures for the houses (ok, frat dues are wayyy less than sorority dues. What up with that??), Schedule of recruitment week, and even a helpful little page with suggestions on what you should wear. Ok, need to settle down now. I gotta get to the website and register for rush. Yay!!!!!!!!

Maybe fraternities assess; I know some sororities do. Kappa does not, so the amount listed is all that is required (this does not include T-shirts, pictures, memorabilia, or other optional costs).

rush at my school starts august 25th. it is a small recruitment.
the groups are:

alpha chi omega
delta gamma
zeta tau alpha
kappa delta (colonizing)

last year about 150 girls went through and quota was around 42. so i think my chances are good for this fall. i am so scared though. i consider myself at a tremendous advantage cause of GC. i am studying past rush threads and advice threads. i am going to be so prepared!! i know that there is not much that i can do. but its hard to have to let something take its course that you have no control over. especially when it is so deep in your heart.

I hear ya. I'm pretty nervous, just from the sisters I've seen, I'm not sure they'll think I fit in, but I also know I haven't seen sisters from EVERY house, so there's still hope. And evrything I read in these threads is so helpful. At least at the end I'll know I did the very best I could and had a lot of help ( from you guys :) ) making the whole thing go smoothly.

Not everything is based on looks! And don't assume one sister looks like the rest of the house. I know my chapter had a sister who looks like a "Sk8r Boi" and another who won't leave the house without makeup but will still be in PJs. Just look pulled-together and confident.

I can't wait to hear about all your stories once everything begins this fall! Good luck w/ everything and keep us updated :)
