What happened on Good Morning America?
I think Brooke will make a great wife and mom some day. Helene didn't seem very excited, but she hasn't seemed very excited about ånything so I think thå† is just her personality. I thought it wås rude of Aaron to make out with Brooke becaue last week he told Gwen he was in love with someone. You don't kiss someone when you're in love with someone else. I too thought it was rude for Aaron's mom to ask Helene why she wasn't settled down. Hello look at your son who is 28 and has to go on tv to get a wife. Geesh I am only 21 and I want to be a mom, but i can't control that. If i haven't met anyone it doesn't mean I am defective. |

Wow, all the hate for Helene!
I was thrilled that he picked her. The more I watched of the show last night, the more I liked Helene and disliked Brooke. I was on the edge of my seat by the end! Helene and Aaron just "click" -- they're into each other and it's so clear that they are having a great time. When he was with her, he was always smiling, unlike with Brooke where he just looked sad, and Helene is always laughing and talking and having fun. I think that of the women, Helene was the MOST real and the most true to herself because she really seemed to be acting like who she was, and he could like her or not. I think it's a shame to say that she didn't seem excited enough or should've been crying. Not everyone shows excitement the same way at all -- it's not her personality to be all mushy, but that doesn't mean that she appreciates or feels it any less. She is an independent, mature woman, and I think that she is very much in love but is just more, say, understated than someone like Brooke, and there is nothing wrong with that. I think they make an awesome couple and will be very happy together. Brooke, on the other hand, really got on my nerves as the evening went on... She was fake. She even admitted (basically) to being fake when he "broke up" with her and she got in the car and admitted that she wanted to tell him that he was making a mistake. Well then, WHY DIDN'T SHE? Because she was being fake; she was being this sugary sweet delicate little thing who says what she feels she's "supposed" to say all the time, to make the "right" impression. She even said she was "putting her game face on" for his family. I found it very annoying when she was at his place going on and on saying how "nice" and "beautiful" everything was, but then telling the camera that it needed a woman's touch. That's fake! She wasn't being honest. She's too young to get married, and I think that she was much too caught up in this fantasy dream world of what marriage is, but she doesn't really understand the reality of it. Plus, her answers to his parents were all non-answers, like "When you know, you know." That's not saying anything! Anyway, I did feel bad for her because I know she was very upset, but really, that's a risk you take when you put yourself in this situation. I don't think it was fair for her to say that she didn't deserve this, because she signed up for the chance of having her heart broken and there was no guarantee that it would've turned out better for her. She went into this knowing full well what might happen. Anyway, I just wish we had gotten to see more of Aaron's decision making process. He went from being totally on the fence one day to Knowing (with a capital K) who he wanted. I think he wanted Helene all along, but I wanted to see more of how he actually, really, finally made up his mind. |
I don't think Brooke was being fake at all. Throughout the whole "process", she kept telling him she understood what a difficult situation he was in. She knew what a hard decision it was for him and he told her throughout their whole last night together how stressed out he was. She put on a brave face and sucked it up for his sake.
I adore Brooke and could tell she was sincerely ifalling in love with him. I think she deserves someone 100 times better! I watched part of the GMA segment this morning and Brooke couldn't watch the proposal when they replayed it. She was very honest and a good sport. She was in a seperate studio and while she was being interviewed, they showed Aaron watching and his responses. He admitted that it was hard to watch Brooke's comments in the limo and almost cried because it hurt him so much to see her upset. After her interview, Brooke agreed to come face to face with Aaron and Helene because she wanted to congratulate them in person. She is very mature for a 22 year old and she is handling it really well. She did say that she was in love with Aaron and he will always hold a special place in her heart. |
The most SHOCKING ROSE CEREMONY EVER!
Did you all miss me last week cause I missed the "witches tell all" gabfest so I couldn't participate in the discussion? :D
Get ready for my always long-winded review of the show. At any rate, I thought the season finale was hilarious, especially the trip to Assron's house (okay, you all have to understand that I visit this television website where they spend time ripping every popular show while being addicted to it at the same time, so please excuse my coarse language). Ummm, after seeing that cheesy assed bill board I would have been like “okay, please take me BACK to the airport.” Did Mama aaron have major daggers for both women or what? And grandma aaron was pretty frightening too. sis-in-law looked like she wasn't going to be too happy being supplanted as the YHIC (young hottie in charge) at the Burege homestead, for what that's worth. Yikes, Assron really was the better-looking brother wasn't he? And I can't leave family Buerge without spending some time talking about patriarch pappa buerge: four words--LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON! I thought that aaron was just being an idiot whenever he repeated the same thing over and over to each woman during the course of this season. Meeting big pappa, I realized he really got that honest! Big daddy's more of a bill clinton version of aaron (in his mind, I thought he would be willing to pick up his son’s sloppy seconds the way he was salivating at both women). BTW, I also totally, thought it was in poor taste for mama burege to make that “27 and not married” comment as well—hel-lo lady we're in 2002. I hate to think what she would have said to Gwen--or hell, to me, for that matter, never having even been engaged although proposed to (or what I would have said back to her). Ummm, you all know that I've always (well except for that one week) been a big Helene supporter (as much as one can support a group of exhibitionists that is)--I've always thought her rather irritating personality quirks were more a product of her upbringing than indicative of her interest (or lack thereof) in assron. Lots of folks on my other Web site had been rooting for Brooke based solely on her sincerity until her limo scene (also known as the "money shot") breakdown. I believe she had genuine caring for Assron (not that he deserved it) but it also showed that no matter how sincere we may really be, we are all acting a bit in the game a love ("I put my game face on", other comments. On the change of clothes issue, some have speculated that Helene did INDEED spend the night after the one-on-one date and the producers tried to act like it was the same night. The Tiffany money clip (the guy is a banker after all, so presumably would get the significance) was a nice touch. Okay, I was going through my own drama at the time, but I did like the proposal (although I had to put out of my mind that I'd just seen aaron ask Brooke (formerly known as the “jailbird’s daughter) if he was "making a mistake", grrrrrrr). Although many did not like the "Helene talking all through the kisses" part, I thought it was cute. I also liked that he bought (or Daddy bought makes no diff) the ring himself. Bets on how long it will last? Much as I like Helene, the challenges will be: surviving her viewing of assron’s behavior with the other women on the show and getting her to move to aaron-burg. I guess I’ll wait to see Trista and the Bachelorette come January and save my ascorbic tongue until then! :) |
I loved Brooke and was so disappointed to see her leave - and I think she showed how classy she was by losing gracefully.
I never really liked Helene - I thought she was kind of flakey. She always sounded like an air-head - the giggly type. I dont think she is serious about marrying Aaron because she said on television she had no plans of moving to where Aaron lives, and he has said that he is unable to move because of his job - although Helene is trying to convince him to. |
Well I wasn't surprised at all to see Helene get picked, but I was disappointed in her reaction. Aaron seemed to be overjoyed and it looked she had just found 20 bucks in her pocket instead of an engagement ring. :o
Like everyone else, I definetly think that Helene change of clothes, plus that "sweaty" look on Aaron implied some extracurricular activities. I hope the best for them, though it seems like too short of a time for an engagement! I want to know 5 years from now where they're both at! (And if Helene can live up to the expectations of the other daughter-in-law). Ooh, and also ... Helene was pissed that there was going to be a bar below Aaron's condo because it would be noisy. There's already fightins a brewin'. I think there should be a second season called "The Engaged Couple"! I want to know how this story REALLY ends. |

I searched the U of Alabama website and it doesn't look like they have Tri-Delt. It was not listed. I saw AGD and a bunch of other houses though.
|
The Univ. of Alabama located in Tuscaloos DOES have Delta Delta Delta. Their house is kind of circular in shape. I don't know if Brooke is in a GLO or not though.
|
Brooke isn't greek at Alabama - but she's a "Bama Girl" which is a football hostess... i guess it's a big honor and they take recruits to the games and give tours.
I think she would make a fabulous sorority girl though - she really does seem like such a sweetheart! I could totally see her being the next "Bachelorette" |
This might sound terrible...
but what does she really have to offer as a bachelorette besides being really pretty and friendly. She seemed pretty content on finding a man to get married with. I would think that the ideal bachelorette would be a little more independent, older, and would have a little more to offer. Stemming from the mistake that was "Bachelorettes in Alaska," I think that women don't really have control in these situations. Bachelorettes in Alaska made it seem as though the women had all of the choice, but actually the women still had to sit around and wait for the men to propose to them.

I didn't see the finale, but of course, I knew he would pick Helene.
Anyway, I think that Helene and Aaron both kind of suck all around, so I am glad he ended up with her. When she speaks, she sounds like an uneducated idiot (she always says "like," and "you know," and "and stuff"). He just seems shallow. Brooke will find someone better -- who wants to meet their husband on a television show, anyway? |
