My current major is LIFE (don't ask lol but its really Psychology for now) with a minor in pre-medicine. I am a clueless student  ...that's why I've been struggling lately. When I arrived this fall, people scared me out of my initial major...so now I'm...stuck like chuck. I really want to go to medical school, but I have to find courage and FAITH to keep me from running away from all of life's challenges that somehow seemed to pop-up out of nowhere since I've been on my own.......

I started out my freshman year as a computer science major. Then quickly changed to accounting. Then doubled in accounting and marketing, and now i'm back to just accounting. Seeing as i have two semesters left *sp 05, fall 05* I'm not changing for ANY reason.

Re: College Majors/Minors

[b]Questions:
What is/was your college major(s)? English

What is/was your college minor(s)? Communication Arts with a concentration in Journalism

FOR THE GRADUATES/WORKING FOLKS:
What are you doing now professionally? Assistant Editor for a trade magazine for the banking industry

How did your major(s)/minor(s) prepare you to do your job? That is a hard question. I have been a natural born writer, so I guess it made me put things in context, how to structure a story as a reporter rather than a novelist, etc.

What internships did you do to get ready for your profession? Some of you may of heard of it, College Bound Magazine, its now CB Teen.

Vocation Information

I wonder what people do all day for those of us who go to work after finishing school. What are you doing now? What kind of work is it? For those of you still in school, what do you want to do?

I am a re-entry specialist for adult males. This is a fancy term for counselor/case-manager for a prison program that helps men go back into the community with a job.

You?

BrnSuga 03-14-2006 06:59 PM

WOW, were you a social work major? I have both B.S. and M.S.W. degrees in social work. Currently, I'm an Adjunct Instructor at a local community college teaching in a Social Science area.

Diva_01 03-14-2006 09:38 PM

Actually, I majored in criminal justice with concentrations in psychology, corrections, and women's and minority studies. I'm thinking about going back for social work, but we'll see. I actually got lucky and got in good with the superintendents and I was promoted to this position from officer when they switched from kids to adults...
