instead of saying "mama-say-mama-sa-ma-ma-cu-sa..." (WTF does this mean), my brother told me they were saying,
"i'ma save my mama some ba-ba-que sauce", and i said this for YEARS....

CTFU at my self!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

CTHU!!!!! ooooh, soror, that is FUN-KNEE!!!! but i actually got into a debate with one of my prophytes who believes he is saying "i was saved by the sound of michael's song." her argument agains "mama-say-mama sa..." was that it doesn't make any sense. and, well, i couldn't argue anymore other than to say "well, THAT'S what he's saying."

Just thought about this.....

My father used to play (a couple of years ago) Bobby Brown's CD "Bobby" veeeeeeeeeeeeery often, especially "Get Away." My father used to say, "Ain't nothin' but a f$^&in' party!" when Bobby would say, "Ain't nothin' but the funk baby!" Good thing my father would play that song with his headphones, that way he couldn't hear me LMAO!!!!!!!

Also, my mother was singing (or attempting to sing) "Player's Anthem" by Notorious B.I.G. and Junior Mafia. She didn't know the words to the hook (which is what she was singing) and I had to tell her what it was. When I did, she was shocked and in denial. I told her, "I got the CD. You wanna see the words?" She politely declined.

Okay, I had to bring this thread back up. I've been listening to 702's "I Still Love You" and just realized that they say "it don't take a rocket scientist to know I love you". I used to just mumble through the chorus. :o

All in the Family theme song

Theme song: Those Were the Days

I have always heard the line "Gee our old LaSalle ran great" as:

"G.I. Joe was sour but great"

Anyway, that theme song was the hardest to listen to b/c I didn't know what Archie and Edith were singing. But here are the lyrics for those interested:

Boy the way Glenn Miller played
Songs that made the hit parade
Guys like us we had it made
Those were the days.

And you knew who you were then
Girls were girls and men were men
Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again

Didn't need no welfare state
Everybody pulled his weight
Gee our old LaSalle ran great
Those were the days.

2nd verse:

People seemed to be content
Fifty dollars paid the rent
Freaks lived in a circus tent
Those were the days

Going for a Sunday spin
Come and watch the Dodgers win
Have yourself a dandy day that cost just under a bin.

Hair was short and skirts were long
Kate Smith really sold a song
I don't know just what went wrong
Those were the days.
