That makes sense. I read an article by a trans woman who said that when she started taking hormones, she really noticed the difference in her physical strength.

Most GLOs have woman/man in their descriptions and not female/male.

The difference between (biological) sex and (social) gender is why I said this. That difference was also the reason for some of the back and forth in the "college sexual assault and rape" thread.

I'm curious to the reverse scenario. A transgender male attempting to join a fraternity.

We dealt with a situation like this when I was in undergrad. A wonderful young man wanted to join a particular fraternity. Almost all the members loved him and he was offered a bid. The one brother who didn't love him due to his transgender status called up his NHQ and let them know that the pledge was a transman, and they revoked his pledgeship. The man found a home in another fraternity on campus. I want to say that they cleared it with their NHQ first, but my memory is not 100% clear on that. Both groups were NIC.

Actually, no, I think when these policies were made back before any of us were born, they were made to keep men and high school girls out of sororities. Transgender people weren't even on the radar. It's something that will be addressed more and more as the years go on, I'm sure.

Yep
