FWIW, I finally figured out what was bothering me a little about this thread. It's the word Rude. I think Inconsiderate or ever Very Inconsiderate would have been a bit more appropriate.

For example, if a man took me into a car dealership and told me to select a car (yeah, like that's going to happen!), I wouldn't pick out something that was simply okay. I'd be looking in the rear view mirror of a Jaguar.
