THE BOYS have been found::D

Boys No More: I inquired a few weeks ago about whatever happened to former R&B group The Boys and many of you replied. Apparently, the former Motown sibling quartet is “boys” no more. In 1994, The Boys (Khiry, Hakim, Tajh and Bilal) decided to take a sabbatical from recording. They decided to visit Africa because they really felt connected to the country after previous visits. They began studying the practice of yoga and martial arts. During their voyage to Africa, they began to record music again, but not for commercial recognition. They came back to the U.S. after that trip to Africa and decided that they wanted to eventually move to Africa. In 1998 a friend of the groups organized a trip to Gambia, West Africa and The Boys decided to go along. They took some music equipment with them and told their father that if they thought they could survive, they would stay. They have resided in Africa ever since. They are now known as the Suns of Light, and continue to write and produce music in a studio that they opened in Africa. To learn more about the group that once made it big with songs like “Dial My Heart” and "Crazy", and to see how they look now, visit them online at http://www.SunsOfLightName.8k.com.

I probably could not have made it through seventh and eighth grade without my Five Star albums. I thought Doris (the oldest sister) was gorgeous! Last I heard, the lead singer got pregnant by some rapper. Guess they couldn't "Wait Another Minute." :D

Some other folk I wouldn't mind seeing/hearing from:

Sharon Bryant, Barbara Weathers (both were at one time lead singers for Atlantic Starr, and they could sang

Tawatha Agee, female lead of Mtume ("Thigh Ride" was my stuff, child!)

Mica Paris ("My One Temptation") - I believe her last album was from 1998.

I FOUND KWAME:D :D :D

Kwame: Behind The Scenes:

By Dorit Kalev
Date: 10/4/2002 12:30 AM

Rap pioneer Kwame has returned to the front lines of the urban music industry by working behind the scenes as Producer for platinum-selling artists such as Mary J. Blige and LL Cool J.

Having sold over three million albums worldwide, Kwame is familiar with what it takes to create a strong street buzz. Currently, tracks produced by Kwame include: “10 Million Stars” on LL’s latest album 10 and an untitled track featuring Cam’Ron on K Slay’s album soon to be released by Def Jam/Violator.

In 1989, Kwame erupted onto the rap scene with his humorous, good-natured and intellectual rhymes, not to mention his individual sense of fashion style. His signature style turned Kwame into a household name amongst rap fans. By 1990, he produced the remix of “Lies” for En Vogue, and in 1991, worked with BBD to write their chart-topper “Poison.” In addition, Kwame wrote and performed songs for such films as "Dancing in September" and "Ghetto Dog."

After releasing his fourth album, Kwame took a few years off to redirect his talents by way of music education for children. Most recently, Kwame has produced “Scared of You,” which will appear on the soundtrack for 20th Century Fox film "Drum Line" due out later this year.

I used to rock this CD when it first came out and I listened to it for the first time in a LONG while the other day. Man, that CD brings back some memories! NOWorNEVER, they were looking real rough on the cover. And what was up with the sequined outifts inside the cover:eek: ?

I was taking a nap a few days ago and out of nowhere I wondered, "Whatever happened to Mint Condition?" I used to love them. They made some of the best songs. I was reminiscing on some of their best songs. "Pretty Brown Eyes," "Girl, You Send Me Swinging," and "What Kind of Man Would I Be" just take me there.
