Love the retro swimwear. :) By the way, Miller's Hardware is family-owned, and still open!

Our new national website has an interactive Sigma history timeline from 1898-present, and it has some pretty cool retro photos in it:

I found these in the Auburn University Digital Library...very cool! They are from when Auburn was the Alabama Polytechnic Institute. Sorry they are huge.

The first three are from ADPi during skit night (1947):

This is Chi Omega in their dorm rooms...notice the owl and letters in the window! (1945)

I <3 Rollins & Winter Park in general...my favorite spot in Central Florida!

Okay, I had seen the Duke pictures, but what I can't figure out is - are those four women in the front wearing "diapers"? I ask because of the safety pins.

breathesgelatin 11-04-2008 01:16 AM

Those Auburn photos are hoo-larious... I can't imagine what the ADPi skit was about.

There's a song "Grandma Was An ADPi" that's always been popular - I'm thinking the skit had to do with growing up to be an ADPi. That's assuming those are diapers!

FSUZeta 11-04-2008 06:34 PM

they do look like diapers-(maybe 1940's version of depends?)i am very curious as to what the skit was about.
