I don't get the impression that chapters worry about taking the max number of upperclasswomen like they do the other part of quota. |
78 freshmen and 8 upperclassmen are the correct quota figures. And you are correct that the upperclass number isn;t that important.
|
Golly, I cannot imagine 86 girls in a pledge class!!! That is amazing!!
Congrats to all the new Greeks!!!!! |
It seems like the past two years, the list of pledges was posted on the Panhellenic page weeks before the list hit the newspaper ... any word on the list of girls and their hometowns yet?
|
Yes, I understand that some chapters only worry about taking the 78 freshmen, but that poster stated that quota was 81. I guess just bad information.

From one alum to another, thanks for all the hard work you put into the sorority and this chapter. I know this time of year, especially, is tiring on you and your family. Just want you to know that you are appreciated! |
One of my former students is a brand new ALPHA OMICRON PI at Bama!!!:D
|
Congratulations!!! She is going to LOVE the Aopi's at Bama. I heard that they have an amazing pledge class.
|
My daughter and several of her friends pledged Kappa, their first choice.
To all out-of-state PNMs - take heart! My daughter and her friends are from Georgia. They all had full party schedules and great pref rounds. They also got bids to their number 1 choice. They did their homework over the summer with Recs and I think it really helped. |
BAMA2, one of my son's friends just pledged Kappa there too. She is one of the Texas contingent!!
Congrats to your daughter and her friends!! |
I just returned from Tuscaloosa and am completely exhausted! Bid day was incredible and the Kappas have the cutest pledge class! They left today to go on a pledge retreat and will return tomorrow for a delayed Bid Day party! Makes me want to go back to school! They are in for some fun times!

Does anyone have a complete list yet? It's so nice the way they sort it for us :-) I was looking at Auburn's yesterday and it's certainly not user friendly listing it by girls rather than grouping it by the various sororities!! I founf that totally annoying :-(

By the way, my daughter is a Tri-Delta at Alabama ... and if I could only get her to answer her phone today ... sigh! I think she's tired from rush? |
Hi Loyally Kappa!
I bet your daughter is exhausted...in a good way :-) I remember those days well even though they were so long ago. I was a Chi O but my mom was a Tri Delt at Alabama just like your daughter!! My family was all over the board greek wise...with 8 grandaughter's on my mother's side 3 of us were Chi O's and 5 were Kappa's. Then, on my father's side, all five cousin's were KD's...crazy, huh? I hope your daughter calls to fill you in when she has recooperated. By the way, how cute is it to go on a pledge retreat right away? Almost like a "kidnapping" & wonderful way to start the bonding process! They didn't do things like that back in "my day!" |

Try highlighting the document then going to Excel, pasting and then sorting on Column A.:D |
We just got back to Atlanta from Tuscaloosa. Our daughter pledged Gamma Phi Beta and she is very excited. Not sure how many girls pledged with her but they looked very cute in pink and brown.
|
Removed because I don't want to be helpful.
|
Thank you, irishpipes ... now I can find the girls from Gadsden.
|
Sort it yourself.
|
I only know one girl (and her mother ... and her grandmother). Jamie Ann Nolen, Alpha Gam.
|
Seems to be a few girls missing from the list.....One being my daughter....

Alabama New Member
This list does not have one of my recommendation PNM's on it.
It's missing one---and I know she received a bid to her #1 on her top 3. She's been with her new sisters today. |

Y'all realize this is Auburn's list, not Alabama's, right? Irishpipes posted it two different ways so the girls could be found easier. I don't think anyone has found an Alabama list yet.
|
Where did these lists come from? If it's a publicly available website, link to it. If not, then why on earth would someone think it's okay to post here? Listing these girls' fulls names, hometowns and sorority affiliation on GC is a bit stalkerific, isn't it? Not to mention when someone googles a girl on this list, GC will come up near the top of the list.
|
I guess the poster should have been a little clear about, since it is posted on the UA board......
|
The list is already available on the Auburn panhellenic site. It's just that that site isn't user friendly. Thanks for calling me a stalker though.

Has anyone seen the Alabama recruitment list? A ton of my girlfriends were rushing, and I am afraid to call them (encase that they did not get a bid) and obviously, if they have received a bid, they would be too busy with fun bid day parties to answer my calls! ha!

Thanks for sorting it Irishpipes. The list is posted on the college website.
The Oklahoma State Bid list is now posted via the Stillwater paper, but I am not sure how to link it. A PNM who found me online and asked for recruitment advice and whom I chatted with for a month pledged Zeta at OSU. They got a good one. Thanks Irish for your help in making these public lists more user friendly. (don't you have an oklahoma connection?) |

It isn't information that would be considered private at the campus where these girls pledged. That might be weird culturally someplace else, but we've got some websites that list everyone's name with a photo and a biography down here. ETA: Okay, Auburn may not do the photos and bios thing, but take a look at Gamma Alpha. |
