Shucks, no...not A either. (Jean Mrasek was a Sigma Chi Sweetheart at Univ. of Tulsa in the early 1980s though)
The answer is B, Jenna Ward (Sela's little sister!) |
Sports ?
Which coach's daughter is a Chi Omega?
a.) Barry Switzer, former Univ. of Oklahoma & Dallas Cowboys football coach b.) Joe Paterno, legendary Penn State Nittany Lions football coach c.) Scottie Bowman, Stanley-Cup-winning former coach of the Detroit Red Wings & Pittsburgh Penguins NHL teams d.) All of the Above |
OK, so I went to Find-A-Chi O and punched in all these last names.
There were tons of Madien name Bowmans, a handful of Switzers and only a married-name Paterno. I would love for it to be Scotty Bowman's daughter as growing up in the Detroit suburbs I am a huge Red Wings fan. And, he seems a bit of the oddball entry. (While an amazing coach and hockey legend, hockey isn't this countries favorite or most well-known sport.) I'm going with C! Come on Red Wings!!!!! (P.S. Marica Montmorency was Sigma Chi sweetheart at Western Michigan University in the early 90's and I was PIKE sweetheart in 1992 at the same school. Sorry, still hung up on the Chi Os as sweethearts question! :) ) |
Noooooo...not C
(HINT: Try that maiden name search on "Paterno" one more time!) |

OK, OK, I'll go with B from your hint! :)
(But on the website the only Paterno is a married-name and she lives in Pittsburgh. Is that his wife?) |

|

Yes, all of the above! Chris Evert's sister, Clare, was a student at S.M.U. and a member of Iota Alpha Chapter. Christine Toretti, Lambda Gamma (UVA), married Lute Olson last spring. The Leonard women were Iotas from Univ. of Texas. |
Can't Let This Thread Die
How long do the terms of the Governing Council positions last?
a.) 2 year terms with a maximum of 6 years in each office b.) 4 year terms with a maximum of 8 years in each office c.) 6 year terms d.) 2 year terms with no limit of the amount of years you can serve |
D?
|
Nope, not D (even though Mary Love served as S.H. for 42 years -- the rules have changed since then!)
|
I'll try B
|
Shucks! No, not B either...one more guess!
|
I say A

100 Year Anniversary of the Pledge Pin
Chi Omega's pledge pin was adopted by a vote of the 1904 Convention. Who designed the black oval pin with gold edges and Greek letters which is still used today?
a.) Dr. Charles Richardson, who also designed the badge b.) Ina Mae Boles Morton, who designed the official seal c.) Julia Winchell of Xi Chapter (Northwestern Univ.), who submitted her design for consideration at the Convention d.) Ethel Switzer Howard, also of Xi Chapter and author of the Symphony. http://www.rose-hulman.edu/Users/gro...dpledgepin.gif |
I'm going with B.

Executive Office in Cincy
For much of Chi Omega's 100+ years, our national headquarters was located in Cincinnati, OH. Which address listed below was NOT one of the locations?
a.) Dixie Terminal Building (located on various floors since Mary Love Collins moved the office higher as rent on the lower floors was raised!) b.) 2245 Grandin Road (was both home for Mary Love as well as an office for Chi Omega) c.) 3300 Carew Tower (tallest building on the Cincinnati skyline) d.) 3111 Carew Tower e.) None of the above |
Question Too Tough?
Thoughts? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Yeah, Cincinnati was a wonderful "home" for Chi Omega for many years. The Grandin Road property was especially lovely (a beautiful home overlooking the Ohio River), but had to be sold after Mary Love's death, since it was a private residence and not zoned for business. |
