Got these off ebay- brand spanking new in the box- they are Blue Tux "Sarah".... originally cost $105... but because ebay rocks my life! $19.99 plus $5 for s/h....

They are for my wedding but afterwards I am sure I can find plenty of good uses for them!

Now that I have crossed the bridge...

I finally got to see Manolos in person. And Jimmy Choos too. At a Saks Fifth Avenue in one of the more upscale local malls.

What left me drooling and googly-eyed would be a pair of Prada boots they had at the same store. Too bad they cost more than my monthly rent. I found a very similar pair not too long afterwards that cost me one tenth of the price of the Prada ones. I've worn them to work and have gotten many compliments on them. They are cute. They are comfortable. They are stylish. They work for me.

Went to a Holiday Ball last Saturday. An acquaintance of mine had the cutest shoes- they were high-heeled peeptoes/sandals with bows on front (I wish I could find a picture of similar ones- they were absolutely beautiful). But with that heel, there's no way I could have danced in them- and how fun are balls if you cannot dance? She was not dancing- but I danced away all the calories I had eaten that day. I was wearing a pair of simple black pumps myself.

Christmas wish list (yeah, right;)).

I need shoes. I need some red shoes. I have this theory that every woman needs a pair of red shoes.

I'm off to DSW after work today...hopefully I'll have a contribution or 2 (or 3) for this thread tomorrow.

I'm open to suggestions as well. I'm looking for a casual flat or low heel for work. I usually wear jeans or cords or khakis. We're allowed to wear tennis shoes, but I usually don't. Right now I'm wearing black ballet flats, and in general, wear black shoes more often than brown. I don't have a huge amount of brown/navy in my wardrobe.

I'm back from shopping, and ladies get ready to hate me:

80% off - They're a little more "couture" than I would normally wear, but I have some slacks that they'll go perfectly with. And for $10 I couldn't pass them up. I apologize for the photo quality - I took the pic with my camera phone.

SthrnZeta 12-27-2007 11:19 AM

The shoes I just ordered and got for $35 from Ann Taylor Loft - hope to receive before New Years to go with my new dress...

Are those the kenzie ones or whatever the knockoff version is (I think Bobbi Blu or something)? I have the kenzie ones and I like them - one of my friends bought the other version and she likes them but she said they cut her heels.

They're the Bobbi Blu. They aren't as comfortable as I had hoped - the heel is fine for me, it's the outside top of my foot where it's putting a little extra pressure. I think they'll be fine after a few wears, though. That little purple ribbon with the neon yellow bows is growing on me...I thought it was a little silly looking at first, since the rest of the shoe is all conservative patterns/fabrics, but I kinda dig it now. Gives it a tiny flair.

Apparently kenzie is now Bobbi Blu - that explains why I thought all their shoes were identical, duh. Mine didn't do that but I've had tons of other shoes do it and what works well is to wear them around the house with thicker socks than you normally wear for a few hours to loosen up the leather.

That's a good idea...it looks like my husband is getting his sock drawer raided this weekend.:) I generally wear knee highs or socks that are barely thicker than nylons, unless I'm really cold, which, being a Yankee in Charlotte, generally doesn't happen.

They look like Dorothy shoes! :p But AF, I'm a little surprised, you clearly got a great deal, but c'mon, did you REALLY just spend your hard-earned money on a pair of JESSICA SIMPSON shoes???!??!?!! ;):D

LOL

I can't say I'm a fan of Jessica Simpson shoes... not b/c of who is supposedly designing them, but because I find all the shoes hideous :p I'm not a fan of Carlos Santana shoes either.

They're a deep purple, my signature color, of course I did!

Jessica Simpson doesn't even wear "her" stuff, it's not like it really has anything to do with her, besides slapping her name on it.:p

My newest acquisition... I am in lurve. <3 <3

REALLY ? I kinda like both of their shoes. although I don't own any :o Most of what I like about Jessica Simpson's shoes are that a majority have HIGH heels... being 5'1, this appeals to me :D

BabyPiNK_FL 01-14-2008 08:30 PM

I love my one pair of Jessica's. They got me through many a formal business meeting.

ZTAngel 04-25-2008 11:59 AM

I really like these but I can't figure out what I could wear with them. Help?

Scully 04-25-2008 01:16 PM

^ Those are cute! Definitely let those "pop" and pair them with neutrals like jeans and a solid top. Maybe complement them with a red bag! It's all about the bright colors for spring.

ZTAMich 04-25-2008 04:34 PM

I need a fun but comfortable pair of sandals. Sometimes flip flops are just too casual here in NYC. Something I can wear on the weekends and will go from errands to a casual evening out. Any ideas?

LucyKKG 04-25-2008 04:52 PM

Ahhh ZTAngel, I love and hate you for reviving this thread! *wipes away drool*

But yeah, I agree with Scully about the neutral outfit. Maybe khaki pants (dress pants, not like cargo...duh...) and a white blouse? Too boring?

I bought a pair of red heels and didn't wear them for a long time, but I finally wore them and got SO many compliments (and some were from people I didn't even know). They're solid red, so I wore them with jeans and a black top. Anyway, the point of that was this: go for it! :p

I got a pair of MICHAEL by Michael Kors canvas shoes from DSW for $20. I can't find an exact picture of them online, but they are similar in look to the jetset (only canvas instead of perforated leather) Mine are blue & white:

ZTAngel, I love a red shoe with navy pants or skirt. Navy's supposed to be a "new neutral" anyway. :-)

Red shoes also give an awesome pop to black pants, I think.

I just ordered these:

http://www.zappos.com/la-canadienne-...-black-leather

La Canadienne is fantastic -- they make dressy boots that are waterproof, warm, and have traction in the snow. Makes sense since they come from Montreal!

I do believe these are coming home to me tonight in black:

I believe they look better in person than online since you can only really see the navy blue.
