Yay!!!! Wait, that means you won't be around as much, and we'll have to re-elect your office! Oh nooooo!

I have a few happy things to report:

1. I got a new job! I'll be running the news on the web site of the local NBC affiliate. I will have NORMAL HOURS! Woofreakinhoo! :D

2. I am taking over as chapter advisor for my chapter. Very excited and honored.

3. Yesterday was my birthday! 25 years young. ;)

4. I will edit and add something else here in a couple days.....

I wonder what it could be. ;)

I had my job interview yesterday and I think it went pretty well - I should hear in a week or two so keep your fingers crossed! :)

We just found out we'll be closing on the new house in about a month! Here are some pictures I thought I'd share!:D

The exterior has been stuccoed and painted, we are now waiting on the well and sprinkler system, and then sod and landscaping.

Oooo ...looks good, summer! And my happy news -my daughter has been admitted to my alma mater, Southwest, er, Texas State University and awarded an academic merit scholarship!

My number 4. happy thing from a few posts back .... I'm ENGAGED!

He proposed on Jan. 30 at the restaurant where we had our first date. :)

Went to the interview - don't know if I will fit in at this particular school.:( BUT - home inspection went well - so looks like my house is just about sold. :)

Isn't owning your first home the best feeling in the world? I closed on my first place a little over a year ago and I've loved every minute of making my place my own! Congratulations to a fellow Delta Iota!

Congratulations, navane, and to you pbear, for your upcoming initiation. OH how I want to go - but I fear that if I do get the job which will give me the money to go, I won't be able to take the time. And if I have the time, because I have no job, then I will have no money.

:D At 2:24 pm today, hubby and I officially became homeowners! :D

It's been a harrowing week, with food posioning and a last minute rush of paperwork... we didn't know if we'd be closing today or not! But we did, and it feels great!

I'm getting an award tomorrow for completing the most public service hours of anyone in my graduating class. :cool:

I saw this link from the GPhiB myspace page at UCR and had to ask. Is Reese Witherspoon a Gamma Phi Beta? I looked on the official website of Gamma Phi Beta under prominent members but did not see her name there.

No, she's not. Neither are Kirsty Alley, Gwenyth Paltrow and Johanna from the Real World (she used to be, but terminated her membership prior to going on the Real World). But since she was from the UCR chapter, I can see why they'd like to claim her, I guess.

I have two pieces of great news:

1) I ran the public interest clerkship fundraising auction at my law school and we raised twice the amount that we did last year!

2) I got a job offer in the mail last week - now I just need to pass the bar exam in July!
