Does anyone know when season 6 part 2 will be out on dvd in BLockbuster or something? I've been on a SATC marathon these past two weeks, watching a whole season in like two days! And I'm pissed because I rent from Blockbuster and they only had episodes 1-8 of season 6 and didn't know how many episodes there were. So at the end of episode 8, I'm confused/freaking out thinking they can't end it with just Char getting married, and with Carrie falling off the trapeze with her friends below her!! I need more closure than that! So I've got to hunt down season 6 pt 1 and 2....

Taualumna 08-31-2004 11:19 AM

I am not sure when Season 6, pt 2 comes out. I have also heard rumours that it won't come out, but with the movie not working out, it might. I'm guessing later in the fall at the earliest.

PoohsHoneyBee 08-31-2004 02:52 PM

my b/f bought me season 1 - 5 for my birthday, but i refuse to have two parts for the sixth season...

so if anyone hears anything about one box set, let me know

norcalchick 08-31-2004 03:35 PM

I think I'm going to cry. I NEED to know what happens with part 2 of season 6!!! I don't have HBO, so I won't be able to see the encore showing of season 6 :( *sob*

Taualumna 08-31-2004 04:09 PM

I guess the alternative is to wait for TBS to show the edited version. But that wouldn't be the same :(

As the others, I am not sure when it comes out, but there are Asian sets available. I'd never buy Asian DVDs, BUT, in your case, I just might. :)

Yeah, but sometimes the Asian sets can be a little messed up. I was at an Asian DVD/VCD store a month ago and their Season 5 DVDs contained "I Heart NY". I was like, huh??

dzfan 08-31-2004 07:04 PM

question for ya'll-what was that dish I heard about a SATC actress who left her labtop in a cab-and the cabbie got 10 k out of it??? Lucky soul!

mu_agd 08-31-2004 07:24 PM

i read on another site that Season 6, Part 2 will be out Dec 28th.

norcalchick 08-31-2004 08:26 PM

Oh god... December?! I'm gonna go crazy.

The Asian dvds suck. I have the first season in the Asian dvds and it doesn't have a menu selction or the lil episode previews so I would have to fast forward though the ending credits and the beginning credits of the following episode.

okay so how many of the seasons are on DVD right now? I dont' have cable in my new place so I've been watching all my old tapes (Seasons 1 and 2 plus some random Season 4 stuff I taped off HBO). Anyway, now I just want to bite the bullet and have them all.

I heard that HBO is going to be replaying the last season's eps next month or something? This might be good for you girls who didn't catch it. Plus, I gotta have something to watch once Entourage is over for the season. :( No more hottie Vince.

Taualumna 09-01-2004 02:49 PM

Everything but the second part of Season 6 is on DVD.

Taualumna 12-23-2004 04:11 PM

Season 6, Part two will arrive in stores on Tuesday. They will include alternate endings and much more!

I am sitting here watching the episode when Carrie has all those financial problems when buying her apartment. I noticed she is wearing a Chanel top.

I mean c'mon.

You would think people would get the irony of that! But they don't.

I know a few girls from my hometown who moved here out of college thinking they'd be able to live a "Sex and the City" lifestyle on a publisher's assistant's (or gallery assistant or whatever) salary. Most thought they'd be able to live in their very own apartment on the Upper East Side (just like Carrie!), but they quickly realized that it was a 3-bedroom apartment share in Queens for them. Their parents were helping them out a little, but not enough for them to be able to take cabs everywhere, eat out all the time, go out to the trendiest bars four nights a week, and buy designer bags twice a season. Eventually, checks started to bounce. Cell phones got turned off. These aspiring Carrie Bradshaws ended up going home six months after being here because they didn't have a clue.

It's sad, really.

Last year before the finale of the show there was an article in the NY Post about how all these young girls moved out to NYC to be like Carrie. Then reality smacked them in the face and they realized there was no way they could have that lifestyle. Duh!! It's a tv show. Her life (and wardrobe) was a fantasy. Only Sarah Jessica could afford to live like Carrie. People should just look at the show as entertainment.

A friend of mine who grew up in Miami moved in NYC with some of her sorority sisters after graduation from college. They wanted that glamorous lifestyle that the girls from SATC have. Little did they know that unless you have A LOT of money, you most likely will not have a nice apartment on the Upper East Side, Designer Clothing, and you won't be able to go out to the trendy restaurants every weekend because they're not affordable.
They've managed to stick it out for the last year and a half but all 3 girls are crammed into a studio apartment and they're paying a ton of money for it. None of them have been able to find a decent paying full-time job so they're all working as waitresses.

I hear ya! Being an NYC native and hearing people talk about moving to NYC "one day", I always have to sigh and shake my head because I know what's coming: DEBT!

I don't think anyone single can survive in NYC (Manhattan proper) on a salary less than $100K net (AFTER taxes). And I mean having YOUR OWN 1-BR apt (very hard to find rent control anymore), buying groceries, having cable, phone, paying all utilities, and having enough discretionary income left over to live a decent life on. Add in gym membership, clothes, eating out/take out/delivery, and all the other things you WANT, forget it, you're sca-rewed!

norcalchick 01-27-2005 07:16 PM

That's why I just want to visit. I want to do the whole touristy thing though and take pics of all the old buildings, statue of liberty, etc. Then go SHOPPING!! hehe

I picked up the 5th season dvd set at blockbuster today, previously viewed, for $4.99 a piece...:) It is going to be a lovely weekend spent in bed with SATC for me! It actually makes being sick worth it!

No way! Perhaps I should check my local blockbuster out. I normally go to Hollywood Video and they only have one copy of each season.

No kidding. Mr. texas went to New Jersey for awhile for his work. He ventured to NYC with some co-workers and went to .. I think it was a TGI's type restaurant for a burger with fries.

It was almost $16!!!! That didn't even include beer!

Here you can get a burger with fries for $6.. and the beer isn't expensive either :p

That right there is the main reason why I always debate about moving cross the river, then ultimately change my mind. When I want musuems, Central Park, broadway, etc I go over and have a great day. Then I can come home and have a good burger at a decent price.

But the thing is, Carrie & co. are NOT right out of college - they are all in their late 30s! And Samantha is over 40.

I'm not saying that their lifestyle is realistic for a 37 year old; rather, these 21-22-23 year olds THINK they're just like Carrie Bradshaw. The truth is, they need to wait 14 more years till they'll be like her.

Being single in your 30s is waaaaay different than in your 20s.

*bump*

I hope there isn't a newer thread on this already, this is what I found in the search...

Here's a trailer for the new Sex and the City Movie, coming this spring! (it doesn't reveal much, but it's exciting there's already trailers!!!!)

Benzgirl 12-09-2007 02:32 PM

I'm going through withdrawl. I watch the reruns every week and wish my 4 ladies would come back to me.
Can't wait for the movie.
