The VV prints make Lilly look like art. Uniformly awful, although I definitely think ZTA's is the worst.

DubaiSis 03-20-2012 01:15 PM

I think these are all way cuter than the Lilly prints. I'd get any of these over just about any of the Lilly ones.

They have Pi Phi, Zeta, Sigma Sigma Sigma, Kappa, Tri-Delt, DZ, Alpha Phi, Theta, Delta Gamma, and KD.

The designs are a little less flamboyant than Lilly, but VV is just more conservative across the board. If they had AXO, I'd totally get a piece. I wouldn't, however, get the tote--I bought one for my college (less than a year ago!) and now it's my "taking material samples in dirty old buildings" bag because it started fraying pretty early.

I bought the Alpha Chi VV bag at a conference last year (they do exist - the chapter I advise just ordered them, too). It's definitely not the best quality for the price you pay, but it's pretty understated. It doesn't scream sorority across a room.

I knew the sorority totes were available, but I haven't had the best experience with VV totes. I bought my college VV tote last year and it's pretty busted at this point--more than something that cost $100 should be after a year. I'd buy something else, but it doesn't seem that the other items are available.

KSUViolet06 03-21-2012 11:59 AM

^^^I was in the market for a new tote of some sort a few months ago, and I got the same reviews from people when I asked about them.

alum 03-21-2012 05:45 PM

The canvas and stitching isn't the problem. Unfortunately the motif fabric (the band on the top) is a silk, the same that their silk ties.

I bought a Kappa bag back in 2007. The motif fabric has held up pretty well but I did fraycheck it the instant I saw wear. My daughter obtained her Pi Phi tote at the same time but she didn't fraycheck it and it is somewhat worn. Our motif was just a dark blue background with light blue fleur-de-lis as the chapter that ordered it wanted to market it to alums as well as actives. I think the Pi Phi bag had little letters and carnations and even another design.

sigmaaxid 03-26-2012 08:47 PM

Shes a bit pricy, but I love her designs!

I already saw a huge push for SC, but really...what's the point? That's like Ralph Lauren offering school activity prints and the equestrian team requesting one.

Looks like they are voting after all - 6 were revealed today: VA, FL, GA, NC, SC, and MD.

Those are the states I kind of think about as "Lilly Country" anyway.

ADqtPiMel 04-13-2012 07:21 PM

The chapter I advise is currently featured on the Lilly blog: http://blog.lillypulitzer.com/2012/0...on-university/

I'm not really a Lilly person, but I am thrilled to death with how damn cute they look.

IndianaSigKap 05-14-2012 02:08 PM

I need your collective expertise. I need a dress by Saturday for a themed event. The theme is Derby, but I can't wear my derby dress because we will be with the same group of people. Saw a cute Lily on ebay but don't know how the sizes run. In other sizes I wear a 2 or 4, the 4 due to bra size. Can someone give me ball park on the size estimates? Thanks.

I'm in the same position as you, although probably a bit heavier, as I can go from a 2 to a 6 due to bust size, but I always wear a 2 in Lilly. Their sizing chart is actually very accurate.

Thanks NUKaydee!

Has anyone bought a LP planner? I need a new one for next school year and have struggled the last few years to find one I like. Many of my past planners are difficult to turn the pages with the rings or the pages tear. Lilly planners are more expensive than I usually spend, but if they are decent... Are they worth it?

I am on my second one and I love it! I actually find it quite reasonable for what you get - there is a ton of space in the week pages, 2 sets of calendars (I use one for work and one for personal), and the other areas are a bonus, as well!

I love my little one, although I do wish I had gotten the bigger size.

Two of the active officers at the chapter I advie carry Lilly planners and I'm getting one, because I think, after seeing theirs, that I've finally found the "perfect" planner. I'm pleased that they offer it in a soft cover now; makes it easier to pack/carry.

Only decision now: which print cover to pick?

And, it's Aug 12-Dec 13 so what do I do in January 14? Oh I'll figure it out then, I suppose.

I'm obsessed with mine. I have the large one and it's amazing.

Need. Need now. All of it. Mostly because this poor college kid can justify spending $16 on a tumbler much more easily than I can justify spending $88 on a scarf, no matter how attractive and well made said scarf is...

Oh gosh, those tumblers are so cute.

Looking at the store makes me wish that Jonathan Adler would get in on the sorority prints -- those would be amazeballs.

psusue 05-17-2012 11:40 PM

That tumblr will be mine as soon as a Sigma print comes out. For sure. That's not even that terrible of a price when you think about it. I mean I've definitely seen cheaper but not nearly as cute. Ditto the iPhone case. Adorbs.

dukemama 05-18-2012 08:57 AM

The Alpha Phi iPhone case has my name all over it - love!

IUHoosiergirl88 05-18-2012 03:57 PM

I'm a casual Lilly fan (own an iPad cover, magnetic board, etc.) and was interested in some of their dresses but was shocked at the price! I did recently discover Re-Lilly, it's a FB group that people can sell their old Lilly items on...I haven't bought anything YET, but if you're a Lilly fan, this might be a way for you to snag some items at a way cheaper price!

Tulip86 05-18-2012 06:44 PM

They really need to start shipping Europe.

tammyss 05-18-2012 07:49 PM

Oh man, my poor credit card...buying one of those iphone cases asap!

futuregreek? 05-18-2012 11:46 PM

Was anyone else disappointed in the selection of items offered this round? All I have seen are a tumbler, white board, and iphone case. Don't get me wrong, they are all adorable! But, I have been hoping to get a sorority carry-on bag and pencil case ever since the first prints were revealed. I was thinking maybe they would offer them again and cycle the products so that members of sororities with existing prints could buy new items each round, but there is nothing on the same scale as the totes and carry-on bags this time around.

Maybe the sorority line isn't as profitable as they thought it would be?

I believe that the tumbler/white board/iPhone case are just the items being released through Lifeguard Press because they've been high-demand items. The Lilly blog post with the timeline said not to expect pre-orders to be up until June, so I think that the other items (tote/scarf/make up bag) are still to come- especially because none of the items currently available for pre-order involve fabric.

DubaiSis 05-19-2012 12:50 AM

I think the i-phone cases are much nicer looking than I expected from the initial print reveals. I'd actually use any of those, although I like the ADII, Tri Delta, KD and Sigma Kappa ones the best. I guess I like a more subtle print.

Has anyone ever been to the warehouse sale? I'm going with some Philly-area sisters and don't really know what to expect.

What sort of discounts are there? Do we really have to get there first thing on the first day to get anything good? Are there changing rooms or should be go in knowing our sizes in the various styles? Do you remember if the dresses were current styles or were they from previous seasons?

It was really great! I went there really early last time and there was a huge line to get in. I've heard that the summer sale is the one that the first day is the absolute best. The discounts are really great. Most things are more than 50% off.

According to a post on the FB page, the new class of prints will be available for pre-order July 9th!

I'm looking forward to seeing the new products they will be putting the prints on. And of course, I can't wait for when the Theta Phi Alpha print will come as this Lilly-obsessed girl will probably end up buying the entire line! :)

I am looking forward to an AST print as well, but seeing as we are one of the smaller sororities, it probably won't be for a year or two which is somewhat disappointing. I wish Lilly would do away with the whole voting farce and release the rest of the NPC prints. It's obvious who the next sororities will be anyways, based purely on numbers (ZTA, Gamma Phi, AGD, AXO).
