Sorry, but if she was able to walk around with this belly, how in the hell is she able to collect worker's compensation? It is people like her who ruin worker's compensation for those of us who really need it.

Yes, I saaw this. BF is black.

She also STOLE her mom's credit card to buy fertility meds via the internet.

Mom = idiot for letting them live together under her roof. It's like ASKING for her to get pregnant.

yep yep the boyfriend is black. Dude didn't even know what "quintuplets" were, but he was all for her taking fertility meds so that she could get pregnant.

Yea, that whole situation made me sick. His grown ass should know better, and the mother should have intervened.

These type of people make me sick. How are you SO crazy that you think bringing a baby into that type of environment is OK? Some people are just meant to be sterilized.

Mother should have kicked her ass for stealing her credit card. And mother needs to get her head examined for letting the boyfriend live there

So, this is just being released:

Quote:

The fertility doctor that helped Nadya Suleman give birth to octuplets also provided treatment to a 49-year-old woman who is pregnant with quadruplets, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Sources tell the newspaper that Dr. Michael Kamrava implanted at least seven embryos from younger donor eggs into the woman, who is currently hospitalized.

"I do think it is concerning, and dangerous, especially to the mother," a doctor familiar with the case told the Times. "She is close to 50. When women get to be that age, our fear is the cardiovascular complications, such as stroke or heart attack. That’s how serious this is."
LINK

AKA_Monet 02-12-2009 07:38 PM

So, you all know Suleman chose not to pay the freezing charges and/or the reinjection IVF charges.

The apparent cost to freeze is ~$1200 for 5 years pre-payment.

The reinjection IVF charges is ~$10K+ with some failure rates. I think they charge per injection.

Just saying, chick knowingly did not think many things through, but she did not want her embryos thrown out... So she did an "all or nothing" and injected everything... This whole incident is all about money... She thinks she is making money when she gives live births to people--not saying if these kids will contribute to society or not... Just saying how someone "rationalizes" this process.

Hello everyone i'm Missauthentic and i'm new to GC. I just wanted to jump in on this conversation. I don't think what she did was ok mainly because she has six children already and to make a choice to have eight more without any source of support or stability is selfish , especially in this economy.

AMEN.

You know what makes me mad...so many women in this world can't get pregnant, nor do they have disability payments that they can use for IVF, so they can't have the biological child they so desperately want.

Yet this psychotic women has 14!

I know that life isn't fair, but still!

sorry soapbox

or their freaking insurance doesn't cover most infertility aspects so they have to scrimp and save to pay for the shit out of pocket. Thank goodness for sites and sources to get the meds for cheaper (don't get me started)

I can't believe she has set up a paypal account.....What did she do that deserves people's hard earn money.....She purposefully got herself into this situation!!!! I seriously think she needs help from mental professionals....

Army Wife'79 02-14-2009 12:57 PM

Is it mean to say "I hope the state takes them away b/c she's an unfit mother"? I think she has mental problems.

It's not wrong. I've thought the same thing. Unfortunately, I have a big issue with keeping siblings together, and I can't imagine any foster or adoptive families having the resources to do so.

Except, of course, the Jolie/Pitts family....

They don't. Not for a sibling group that size.

i think in the long run it would be best for the kids...

SWTXBelle 02-14-2009 01:55 PM

Perhaps 2 groups of 4? 4 groups of 2?

DSTRen13 02-14-2009 02:25 PM

The other six are their siblings, too. They ought to have contact with all of them, and with their grandparents ... any adoption arrangement would have to consider that, or it wouldn't be right.

HotDamnImAPhiMu 02-14-2009 02:31 PM

They'd be more likely to be in foster care, since the mom probably wouldn't willingly give up her rights to the kids. Since she "loves children" so much and all.

If they're in foster care, it'd probably be 4 groups of 2. They try to keep siblings together, but each foster family can only handle so much.

And what about the other 6 kids? I don't know that I think she's doing such a hot job with THEM, either.

This woman needs to hurry up and commit some sort of fraud so she can get locked up and taking the kids is a no-brainer.

SWTXBelle 02-14-2009 03:11 PM

Hmmm . . .I wonder if there is any family other than the grandparents. She's an only child, so no aunts or uncles to step in . . . cousins?

It is just such a horrible situation for ALL 14 children.

If she's found to be seriously mentally unstable and a danger to the children, then the court COULD terminate her rights. I imagine the grandparents would probably step in at that point, and the court would most likely agree to grant them custody provided that the mother is no longer in the home.

HotDamnImAPhiMu 02-14-2009 06:11 PM

That's almost impossible, though. I know of cases where the mother was physically abusive AND was in recovery for a drug problem and they still didn't take her kids.

The courts are just really reticent to split up families, especially when it means taking on a new ward of the state.

What would be more likely to happen is the appeals process & everything would drag on forever, and the kids would be in foster care all that time, and by the time Mom finally gave up or there was a solid decision made the kids would be too old to be easily adopted.

Her publicists quit because they were getting death threats!

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la...,4935931.story

My questions is this:

Is it crazier to have IVF so you can have 14 kids, 8 of which are octuplets? Or is it crazier to send death threats to the mom of 14 kids or her publicists?

It's one thing to have a negative response... even to express frustration at the fact that this nutter has a publicist... it's completely different to send death threats.

Tippiechick 02-15-2009 02:58 PM

She was spotted out in public trying to buy a Wii... There's what her donation money is going.

I think the publicists just used any excuse they could to get out of this.

She's in California, so the laws are different than they are in Texas, but your last paragraph is essentially correct. The process would drag on forever and the children would remain in foster care (provided they had been removed in the first place and not voluntarily placed by the mother with relatives or friends) while the case was pending. Add to it the fact that there's a sperm donor too, here, so until it's clearly established, in court, that he has waived all rights to the children, all hearings will be conducted as though he does have parental rights. It's all very, very complicated.

If she ever does something that causes the state of California- or whatever state she's living in at the time- to remove those children from her, she will be in for a very rude awakening about the government systems that've been helping her so far.

Edit: I'll throw in fifty bucks for the Meanie t-shirt fund!
