If he looks like Maxwell, he will blow up. If he looks like Bilal (who I LOVE by the way- can't understand why this man is not huge!)... he'll have a tougher time. Time will tell. |
I seen his video, I LOVE the song! I can't wait for the album to drop. I hear it will drop on March 19th.

Okay y'all...Glenn Lewis is THE BOMB. His live show was pretty good, but he was only given 45 minutes. The 5 songs he did sing, I was lovin' 'em! They were also handing out little CD samplers after the show with snippets from his album, and it is sounding to me like a must-have. I read somewhere that he is getting comparisons to Stevie Wonder. Voice-wise, I can hear it.
On another note, if Alicia Keys is stopping near you, GO SEE THE SHOW! Even if you thought her CD was just mediocre, her live show will blow you away. I don't want to give anything away in case people reading are still gonna go see it, but it was one of the best shows I have ever seen (and that includes Alicia/Maxwell earlier this year). MeezDiscreet, right on about N'Dambi. |
UNWRAPPED
Hidden Beach Recordings Presents: Unwrapped, Vol. 1
Various Artists http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...1.MZZZZZZZ.jpg This was released September 25, 2001 but I never heard about it until last night when an acquaintance of mine mentioned it. TRACK INFO: 1. Crush On You 2. Ms. Jackson 3. Loungin' (Who Do You Love) 4. The Light 5. One More Chance 6. So Fresh So Clean 7. I Get Around 8. Forgto About Dre 9. What's It Gonna Be 10. Bonita Applebum 11. You Got Me 12. Danger (Been So Long) 13. Stan Amazon Reviewer's Comments: These are not your put-you-to-sleep cool jazz rip-offs of popular R&B songs! Definitely a step up in my book of the music I can relate to. If you like the sounds of Boney James and sometimes just want to bop your head to some Tupac, you've just found your CD. These won't be played on the radio -- it's too contemporary for the average jazz station, yet too laid back for a rap format. I like my jazz fusion funky, so I just found my "put the top back" CD for my car this summer. |

Librasoul (girl, I miss our chats!! As soon as I get access at home again in a few days, we can catch up!!!), we're gonna buy Glenn Lewis this weekend, I hope, since it's Triple point weekend, lol. Is he gonna be out this weekend? We heard him on one of the "other" stations this weekend, and was like, dang, if he mainstream already, it's prolly gon' be tight!!! Haven't heard N'Dambi yet. MeezD, pirate??? LMAO!!! Is Lina's CD out, how is it? Has anyone heard Dawn Robinison's? I saw it when I bought Jag's, but I'm hesitant on her, I'll wait to see what yall say, lol. What about Res? Does she have a CD out? Yeah, new job, I'm back to my old CD buying habits, but so! :D |

EUR's Discussion about TWEET
From today's EUR:
STREETWATCH I Looked Over To The Left ... I looked over to the left... …and tried to figure out why everyone is making such a fuss over the song "Oops (Oh My) from newcomer Tweet. So the girl came home at a quarter to three and wanted to "handle her business" by herself instead of making a booty call. Since when is that a crime? Well, maybe in some Bible belt states… I looked over to the left… …and thought, Tweet is the new millennium Joycelyn Elders the former Surgeon General who was roundly criticized by the right wing, called a freak and was ultimately fired by a reluctant President Clinton for just suggesting that students be taught about "Oops (Oh My)" as a form of safe sex. I looked over to the left… …and wondered why radio personalities (male and female alike) call this song "nasty" or use their "controversial voice" to introduce it? Is it because the girl is by herself, or is there some kind of hidden message we're just missing? We decided to just ask Tweet and settle it once and for all. This is what she said, "The song means self-love and appreciation to me, because I had a problem with my skin color and different things about myself. I decided to write a song that said you can touch yourself, but it doesn't mean sexually. I'm saying stroke your ego, pat your personality. Just love yourself regardless. Even the negative spin radio puts on it doesn't matter because I always tell people who listen to my music to make it theirs. So if people want to be out there and say it's something else for them, let it be that." Respond to StreetWatch via: EURfeedback@eurweb.com |
I heard some of Tweet's CD...it is sounding pretty good (beats by Tim and Missy, so it's gotta be hot, right?) It drops on 4/2. The video kinda sucks, although I am not sure how they could do a subtle video for the song's theme. It looks to me like they are trying to market her as the new Aaliyah, which would be a big mistake. I think she has enough talent to stand on her own (she writes her own stuff and plays some instruments, too).
Cherokee drops on 3/19, her CD is OFF THE HOOK y'all. It has appearances by some Philly folk including Jill Scott. I read an interesting article about Jag, it said that she has rheumatoid arthritis in almost every major limb in her body and severe scoliosis (sp.?). I would never have guessed!! |

She is a real trooper then. |

THAT'S where I read it...on my break! :D P.S. Ideal08, I love "I'm Not the Enemy" from Lina...I put that on a CD and people who heard it asked about that song before anything else (it was a sorta neo-soul compilation). |
