So this past summer was the 2nd time I went to Disneyland (lol), and I totally hate the matterhorn now!! hahahaha.

My favorites have to be Indiana Jones, Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain!

I went on Pirates and I couldn't figure out what the big deal was. I seriously almost fell asleep. Its a small world was more thrilling than Pirates.

The park opened up at 9 on the last day we were there, and by 9:20 when we ere finally into the park, the line to the Nemo ride was at the 3 hour mark!!!!!!! (this of course was around the time the ride was opened). Plus that day they decided to do the promo video, so they shut it down for 2-3 hours. We never got to ride it, was it really that good?

My hubby and I went on our honeymoon to DL and were there the week Nemo opened. We got lucky, and rode it twice on Friday, which was the day before it officially opened. We waited an hour in line both times.

On Saturday, when it opened the line was five hours long. People were getting in line past It's a Small World.

Nemo is a cute ride. It's got some really nice touches, but my hubby was not that impressed with some of the effects in the cave. (We're theme park buffs, so he's a tough audience!) I'd probably wait in hour for it, but i wouldn't consider waiting longer than that.

Fun fact: right after the last line of the ride, after they say "We better surface before we start seeing mermaids or sea serpants," you can actually see a mermaid and a sea serpant on either side of the boat. They're made out of the rocks, so you have to look carefully.

But I would have to say my favorite attraction is definitely the Jungle Cruise, more for sentimental reasons as much as anything else. Hubby and I are both former WDW Jungle Cruise skippers, as are some of our closest friends. Skippers joke that you can take a skipper out of the Jungle but you can't take the Jungle out of the skipper. It's true! I'll be able to recite that speil when I'm 80!

My second favorite would be the Haunted Mansion, which I've also worked. Has anyone been to WDW since it was refurbished in September? It looks fantastic now, and they've changed a few show scenes.

My favorite to work as a cast member was definitely the Riverboat, though. It's really laid back (lots of talking to guests) and I got to play around with a real steam engine.

Well, we were at WDW on the 16th and it was so crowded you could barely move at times :( We started out in Tomorrowland and did the Stitch thing (which we could have skipped, we both smelled chili dog burps for half the day!) and then the Monsters, Inc. comedy show which was hilarious! We got our fast pass for Space Mountain (thankfully because the wait was 60 minutes) and headed to Fantasyland. We did the tea cups and It's a Small World and then high tailed it back for Space Mountain. While my daughter and I did Space Mountain, my dad and his wife went to Liberty Square for the Hall of Presidents (which bummed me out because I really enjoy that one and I didn't know they were going to do it without us). After Space Mountain, we went back to Libery Square, which was a challenge because there was a massive parade of itty bitty cheerleaders, majorettes and dancers.. hundreds of them. All their families were in that area too so that was when you couldn't even move. We were going to get in line for the Haunted Mansion but it was a 70 minute wait at that point! We ended up missing that one. Into Frontierland and got a fast pass for Big Thunder Railroad and worked our way to Adventureland. The parades had just ended and there were people everywhere. The Pirates of the Carribean line was listed at 110 minutes at that point and the fast pass time was way past when I thought my dad and his wife would still want to be there (we had a two hour drive back to his house when we were done) so we missed that :( We went to the Tiki Room (always one of my faves). We got in line for the Jungle Cruise, which was listed at 40 minutes when we got in line. However, an entire family reunion showed up with fast passes at the same time. After we'd been waiting for 40 minutes, we realized we still had a whole nother buliding of lines to go through and my dad wasn't dealing with the line well (he's a pretty impatient guy). His wife got out of line to answer work phone calls. A few minutes later, we got out of line too. The wait time listed then was 80 minutes, which was far more accurate. So, we headed back to Big Thunder Railroad where we had to wait about 15 minutes before our fast passes were good. The wait then was only about 10 minutes (although the guy at the gate said it would be around 30 minutes.. with the fast pass!). We headed back to Main Street to do our shopping and then left. It was just a quickie trip this time so we did miss a lot but we'll be back again.. next time, staying in one of the resorts so we have more time and no grandparents to "slow as down" as my daughter said!

You all are making me want to plan a ditch day and go to DL!!!

My son is so excited because he's going back to DL in April with his elementary school band program. They went last year and had do much fun they are going back. They took the kids behind the scenes to a sound stage where they learned a piece of Disney music from a Disney movie, were professionally recorded, and finally their performance was put to a clip of the Disney movie. I went as a chaperone but didn't get to go in the sound stage with them as only the class and the teacher were allowed in. They each got a special t-shirt and...oh my gosh when those kids came out of that place they were beaming from ear to ear- absolutely the best Disney experience ever!!!

Very cool that Disney provides such neat educational experiences for schoolchildren. I remember going there in elem school for a music program during the Bicentennial! yikes I am getting old!

Yikes! I haven't seen lines for Pirates nearly that long since the summer it reopened after the Cap't Jack refurbishment.

Just out of curiosity, where were they starting the queue? There's approx. 20 minutes of line inside and 30 out under the roof. (Under normal conditions at least.) I'm just wondering if that number was slightly inflated.

Anyways, I hate days like that in the MK. It really does not absorb crowds well at all. That's when I go get on the TTA and sit for an hour. :D

That's actually one of my favorite things to do in a Disney park, especially on a warm day. So nice and relaxing.

Since my hubby and I met working the Jungle Cruise, a lot of our early hanging out consisted of hanging out in the MK after work. We sat on the TTA and talked quite a bit. Great memories!

I had a hard time seeing where the ride actually was because the crowd was so big there. When we were leaving, it was down to 40 minutes and everybody was under the roof then. But before that, it was well out of the are covered by the roof. It was President's Day weekend, lots of schools were out for a longish weekend plus all those families of kids in the parades, well, it was just crazy. My dad goes there a lot and said he's never seen it like that before.

It's a Small World. For sure.

It's not technically a ride, but Mickey's Philharmagic. I also like MGM's rockin' rollercoaster and what's a day at MK without It's a Small World? I finally got to DL in Aug. on 07 and it was a completely different "land" for me. It's definitely not the world, but it's good for what it is. I wouldn't fly back just to go there however. I'm a FL girl and I love me some Disney World. Where else does a theme park have it's own highway! That's the real!

Disney Land vs. Disney World
 

I love both the World and the Land for different reasons. Disney Land because it is the one with Walt's personal touch on it. I love New Orleans Square, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Space Mountain and Pirates are much cooler at DL, Monte Cristo sandwiches, and I love the Indiana Jones Ride! (California Screaming at CA is great, too!) Disney World is my "home" - it's bigger, I like the Haunted Mansion better here, Mickey's Philharmagic, Pooh is MUCH better at WDW, Liberty Tree Tavern, Tony's Town Square, and the Castle. Rock n Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror, Expedition Everest and all of Epcot. Love, love both - it's like picking a favorite child. You love them both for what makes them unique. I am dying to get to Disneyland Paris and ride Phantom Manor.

well i just finished my disney college program in early january ( in orlando from may-jan) and i worked at the Emporium on Main St USA in MK!!!

and haunted mansion is FREAKIN AWESOME now that it's been refurbed (def more of the movie type deal)

rumor has it they're going to refurb space mountain sometime soon too (thank god i never ever put my hands up on that ride i was scared they were going to break off lol)

spaceship earth has been refurbed .. it's ok


my favorites though at WDW are

1) Haunted Mansion
2) Teacups .. ( who doesn't like the teacups???)
3) Splash/Space Mountain
4) Expedition Everest
5) Soarin/Test Track
6) Snow White/Pooh (the animation is really good and i loove the bouncy part in pooh)
7) Nemo (Epcot) - WOW is all i can say about the CGI stuff
8) Asian River Rapids (AK and i don't remember the name)
9) ToT/RnRc - CLASSICS in Disney MGM now Hollywood Studios
10) Big Thunder (def ride this around 10 @ night if you can to see wishes .. it's AWESOME!!!!!)


other than that I HATE that they changed Disney MGM Studios to Disney Hollywood Studios and took off mickey's hand on the EPCOT ball :( (25th anniv so they made it to look like when it originally opened)



and for an interesting tidbit for all you disney fanatics out there

The cable you see from cinderella's castle to an undisclosed location in MK is Prince Charming's cable hookup, Cinderella's washing line, or a place for the birds to sit to have a good view of the parade (take your pick .. and if you don't know what it's actually for .. feel free to PM me)

EPCOT also stands for Every PayCheck On Thursday


and if you can DEFINITELY TAKE THE TUNNEL TOUR under the MK .. it's really cool but don't take little kids on this tour ...it will ruin the disney magic (also if you don't know how it'll ruin the magic feel free to PM me)

Oh, I'm so glad the hand is off the Epcot ball! Now,if only they could get that stupid hat out of Hollywood Studios, which I do like better than MGM-Disney Studios. I understand they didn't think Pixar-Disney Studios rolled off the tongue! I used to love looking down to the Chinese Theatre from the front of the park - and now there's that stupid hat . . . .

i'm jealous! i just got back from orlando for spring break this past week and we quite a few days at crackerjack stadium for spring training (the name there's also changed ... but it'll always be crackerjack stadium to me)

we went to islands of adventure and seaworld and also spent a day at each park


but SWTX I AM JEALOUS JEALOUS JEALOUS!!!!!! I think I might be doing another college program sometime soon... i loved it soo much. but once i graduate i would LOVE LOVE LOVE to work for the braves or red sox or maybe espn. :)
