Her entire head was braided into cornrows in a circular or bullseye design. They then used thread and sewed tracks of hair on top of those braids. (Just as you would sew on a piece of fabric, just a different type of needle and thread.) They then cut the hair to the style we see it at today.
I don't know if they showed the actual sewing of the hair in the makeover episode, but they showed her getting her whole head braided bc she commented on how tight it was. |

My friend commented last night on how all the winners lately have been these exotic looking girls and how she really wanted a cute, bubbly blond to win just once (CariDee is neither cute nor bubbly so she doesn't count). |
interesting point on the "why" of saleisha's hair-do.
|
I agree that she got the worst hair of them all and she didn't bitch too much, she still worked it and did her thing...I think there is some truth behind the race of the winners, just like with Idol...but as far as this cycle if Saleisha woulda beat Heather then maybe there would be an issue....but Heather was already gone...those other two chicks were not anything special as far as looks or attitude...but then again, its "reality" tv what do people expect...oh and how could anyone not know that Saleisha's hair was braided for her sew-in...it was just like the other chick Chanel...they showed it fully braided...

I wasn't shocked when Saleisha won, only because Chantal walked like she had a stick up her a$$, IMHO. |
I think Saliesha is a really pretty girl and a good walker, but she just doesn't look like a model. Jenah, Heather, Lisa and Victoria were (to me) the only ones who looked like models - tall, thin, unusual beauty. I can see Saliesha getting acting work, though.
This show really needs to decide what kind of modeling competition it wants to be - print? runway? commercial? high fashion? spokesmodeling? The days of the supermodel who does it all are over and I think it's unfair to expect these girls to be successful in every area. |
thats the thing now...you don't have to "look" any sterotypical way to be a successful model(outside of stll needing to be tiny in size)...and even above average height is not always a requirement..(Kate Moss was short)...its more about an attitude and being able to make your eyes tell a story...is ANTM the gateway to stardom for any model??? Umm no....but the ultra Euro Barbie look is not always a requirement in most markets anymore....

Bianca of Cycle 9 was a model at Fashion Week for Chris March of Project Runway! (no worries if you are watching PR - all 5 finalists did a show at Bryant Park.) Check her out at
http://nymag.com/fashion/fashionshow...ay/chrismarch/ She is the first model in the blue dress. |
Looks like Bianca's in the headlines again: http://www.tmz.com/2008/08/01/hairsp...a-bitch-fight/
