But of course, that is subjective to what one embraces as Christianity. I was kind of torn in the way I felt about this young lady and her motives. On the one hand Granny laid it down early that christian principles and/or scripture doesn't condone homsexuality...period, but at the same time neither does it 'allow' judging and mistreatment. So at times I basically feel torn quite a bit...:D !

As Steve Harvey says "He ain't through with me yet"

Soror, this is a deeper discussion that has been addressed by our national chaplain. Try doing a search here and in the Omega forum on Christian principles, Christian-based, Minerva, etc. You will see both sides of the argument. And remember that not all sorors are Christian.

Richard Smallwood is #2.

Raised on her LPs on Saturday mornings while my Grandma cleaned the house...took me gaining some age to truly understand what I was forced to listen to..now I can appreciate the lessons..:)

So true, I will definitely dig in deeper for personal reflection...as I need the dual representation when looking at issues! Thanks for directing me in the right way:)

There are 2 sides to every story, and we have only heard 1 side. The fact that the OP felt the need to discuss this sensitive issue on a public message board (there are private boards) leads me to believe that there is much more going on.

hey people....

ColorfulCre8ion...

it's been a minute since i've been on greekchat. :D thanks for pm'ing me.

i really do miss the greekchat, but alas work calls and blocks all websites.

plus i do so much work in the LBGT communities...there are not enough hours in the day.

now....

i am very sorry to hear about what's going on with your chapter. honestly, i don't think contacting the nationals will be able to do much. unfortunately, you can't force people to like or accept your lifestyle. you just asked that they respect you.

this will be a long battle that seems like it will never end; asking people to accept you for who you are and not caring about what goes on in you bedroom. frankly, it is none of their business and i am sure you are an outstanding soror that does her part in the chapter.

transferring would just let them know that they won. so do not let them discourage you. is there a LGBT on campus? talk with them.

there are a few replies that were on the money and then there are a few typical replies that are to be expected.

people feel like you owe them explanations about your sexuality. you don't. heterosexual individuals everyday freely express how they feel and how they like. i can't count how many times i've seen pictures of sexy men on this forum and lord if i post my idea of a sexy women, all hell would break loose. if homosexuals do, it's called forcing it down people's throats and wearing it on your sleeve. people are not use it to. me personally, i make them use to it.;)

i am also very disappointed that this happens to be a joke in the probate shows. i am even more disappointed that your LS's don't have your back. it's childish and ridiculous. makes me wonder what backward ass school allows this to happen. maybe you do need to transferr, to a more diverse school.

last but not least, you did post in this forum and there are more seasoned sorors on here. don't expect all soror's to understand. it's all constructive criticism. take it put it under your hat, but don't let it discourage you.

there are several greeks in the life from all Divine 9. you would so surprised. i will send you a link to a few websites that cater to us. you will be surprise who you meet and the positions they hold in their respective fraternities and sororities.

Senusret I, *muah*

i would definitely kick behind on that campus...you know i don't play. i gets my respect from everyone. i will be in DC february 17, visiting some sorors. we definitely have to get up. one of our sorors does a fantastic party @ The Republic Gardens for the community.

This is why the membership intake process is so impportant...It is supposed to be a time when the line members get to know each other. It is supposed to be a time when prospective members learn to at least respect each other....Obviously, this person's line was not at close as they should've been....I must admit that one of my deepest fears during my membership intake process was that once we crossed, we would become distant from each other....

Welcome to GC. :)

Please don't revive old threads where you aren't adding anything substantively new.

Welcome to GC. :)

I wish the OP would've stuck around. :( I'm curious to know what happened and if everything worked out alright.
