If "history is history" then perhaps "more informative and/or entertaining" is not in the eye of the beholder. There is very little objectivity in things that we label as "actual facts."

Sure, there are Mexicans working at On The Border and I drink Chai Tea almost everyday but who cares? These groups are still identifiable as distinct racial and ethnic entities, and often subjected to inequality under a privileged race and class system, so the U.S. is more of a "salad bowl" than a "melting pot."
