Hey I'm about to pm you Curious!

SIGKAP DAWG 08-17-2006 03:31 PM

COR is a very good choice. Keep us posted.:)

I joined through COB after I had to drop out of rush, and I thought it was really great-you know that they are all really interested in YOU!

GtownGirl98 08-17-2006 04:16 PM

I don't want to say too much, but this is a GREAT year for COR at UK. GOOD LUCK!

Well, there are usually several chapters doing COR after rush, so if this is a typical year, then you'll have a few to look at.

pinkyphimu 08-17-2006 09:13 PM

good luck with your cob experience!

Rollergirl2001 08-18-2006 03:15 AM

CuriousWildcat, I've sent you a PM.

Please stay positive and go through COR.

Back when I rushed, I found COR to be a much better fit for me. More personal, I guess. Good luck!

note: just this last year, it was very clearly noted in the panhel recruitment rules that you are NOT to EVER ask a PNM what other house(s) she is going to, what she thought of them, etc. A huge no-no and could result in stiff penalties. That was the policy at Minnesota, anyway. I know many larger greek schools do things quite differently sometimes, though.

And in regards to COB, I was pretty sure that I did NOT want to go through formal recruitment, so I joined through COB, and later was COB chair for my chapter. :D In my opinion it is not only less-stressful, but you can be more personal with your potential sisters, conversations are less forced, and you can talk about more topics (that were taboo during formal, etc)- in other words, just get a better feel for the sisters and chapters.

CuriousWildcat, I am really impressed with how well you did during formal recruitment and your great attitude!
Enjoy your school year and GOOD LUCK with COB!

And let me say this, COB is about getting to know the real YOU more.

Good luck to you in COB! I hope you find your home.

CuriousWildcat, I'm sorry you didn't have a full week of rush, but I'm excited to hear you'll be looking into COR! Those events are a lot more relaxed and you'll get to know folks better during those. Good luck and keep us updated!

SigmaChiCard 08-29-2006 10:37 PM

what is this COR thing?

also, as this is essentially all lexington people, i really hope none of you were affected by flight 5191.

GtownGirl98 08-29-2006 11:48 PM

COR = informal recruitment

Thanks... I wasn't directly effected and hope that you aren't either... but my thoughts and prayers are with the families of flight 5191. How sad to be married for less than 12 hours...
