The couple has been married only 38 months and Ms. Simpson is in violation of the contract, ending the union early.” In a written response, Jessica's lawyers argued that Nick will continue to receive publicity until the divorce is finalized, and that process will take several months. Therefore, Jessica IS fulfilling her contractural obligations.

Say what? They actually had a contract to stay together a certain length of time? I guess everything's business in Hollywood. :confused:

Nick Lachey Files for Spousal Support

ET has learned that NICK LACHEY has filed papers in L.A. Superior Court Friday requesting spousal support from JESSICA SIMPSON in response to her divorce petition. Property assets and obligations have not been established yet in the proceedings.

Jessica filed for divorce from Nick in mid-December, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. In her papers, Jessica is seeking to terminate the court's ability to award spousal support to Nick, and wants to restore her name back to "Jessica Simpson" from her legal married name of Jessica Simpson Lachey.

I just have to say that Nick Lachey is my hero. Spousal support, thats just classic.

How else is he supposed to get any income? We all know Jessica brought in all the $$$.

Now that he's no longer "Mr. Jessica Simpson," maybe he can start riding off his brother Drew's new found fame.

I LOVE that Nick is taking her to the bank. While I like Jessica, I just think she's just spun out of control! She is just not that girl that we all fell in love with anymore, and considering that she was only famous because of THEIR show, it's only fair;)

I read the other day in a magazine that Jessica was seeing some singer. The paparazzi caught a picture of her the night before hanging out with him and then the next morning leaving his house (mind you wearing the same clothes).
