RENT! hits the dollar theater the same week the baby is going with Grandma & Grandpa to visit other Grandma & Grampa in Mexico. I think my husband and I have a date Saturday night!

It just got to the dollar theater here, too. I am so excited for it to come out on DVD later this month. I think I'm getting it from the hubby as a late birthday present :)

I thought that as well.

Here's my short analysis:

If you went expecting to see the stage version on the movie screen, you might have been dissappointed, but if you keep an open mind, I thought it was wonderful. My husband liked it as well.

I bought the DVD the other day and I stand by the fact that I love it. I saw it at the NY Theatre before it made it to Broadway, and then 3x on Broadway, and I thought the movie was a great telling of the musical. I also watched the 2hr back story of it all on the DVD and it makes you appreciate it even more. It's just such an amazing story. Great job Jon Larson!!

The documentary was definitely great. I loved the commentary by Chris Columbus, Anthony Rapp, and Adam Pascal. I learned a lot from them :)

Yup I bought the DVD too. I love it!

I love the stage version and bought the dvd. While I enjoyed the movie version, I much preferred the alternate ending to the actual film ending.
