Sisters,
I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who are keeping me in your thoughts and prayers this past week. Having to study for all these exams is insane, and today I found out I did a LOT better on my Project Mgmt exam than I thought I did. I ended up getting an 81 on it which is pretty good considering I was convinced I had failed miserably.

I have one exam left this coming Thursday and then I have a break from tests for about 2 weeks, so I'm really excited.

I also talked to the Prof about the whole 'cheating' thing during that last exam and he said he was glad I brought it to his attention and that he will "take care of the situation"... so hopefully something can be done so it won't happen again.

Thank you again for those of you keeping me in your thoughts!! It means the world to me!

Thanks Sherra & Melissa!!!

The first thing I did was talk to him about my grade even though it was better than I expected it to be. I told him what happened and asked what I could do to improve for the final exam. He basically told me first to try not to over stress about the exams because he said that is probably what caused me to panic when actual exam time came around. He also let me read some of the A+ answers on the questions so I can get a better idea of what I can try to strive for when the final comes around.

Thanks again Sherra & Melissa!!! ((((((lots of hugs!)))))))

Hey girls I have a huge request to ask.

One of our sisters, I'm not gonna mention her name, but she is an Epsilon Xi alum. I used to work with her and she has had a rough year.

She had to have major surgery on her shoulder in February and just within the last month her mother slipped into a coma.

Could you all please pray for our sister.

Thanks.

P.S. I didn't want to mention her name because she isn't active anymore, but she is our sister and she is going through a rough time and as much as she claims she doesn't want to be involved with ADPi I think she needs our support even if it is just through our prayers.

skerbow 04-01-2004 03:32 PM

I will definately pray for her. :)

Blessed Lord Jesus, we humbly ask that you look upon these prayer requests. Look into our hearts and heal the pain that is there. Please help your children, and whenever it is possibly part of Your will, change circumstances that we might better understand them. And that which we can use for personal growth to Your betterment, help us to realize it, and praise you in all things. Lord, we thank you in that precious name of your son, Jesus our Christ.

I completely and utterly understand the frustations. I know some people will say that they understand when they don't but my brother is in the National Guard he has already informed that in December he will be going to Iraq. I'm gonna cry.

But thank god my brother found a way to get out of it. He joined the ROTC at Arizona State. Being that he is ROTC they (the government) cannot deploy. Problem though, he has to have 60 hours by September otherwise he will be deployed. He only has like 45. Maybe less.

So, I can understand more than anyone can say they do the fear that you have. I'm afraid everyday that my brother will be just up and activated and sent to Iraq. God, I'm crying.

If you ever need to talk, please feel free to email me.

I'm just gonna end this cause I'm crying.

Okay, please bear with me with this. I know EXACTLY how y'all feel about a loved one going to a war zone. My (much) older brother has been to war, and to missionary assignments in war zones.

It's hard. Not a minute goes by when you don't wonder how he is, what he's doing. If you allow it, the thoughts will consume you.

This is why you must truly learn to rely fully on the Lord for protection. You must remember that many go to war, AND that most will return! Those who return will come back with a new outlook on life, a more mature and thoughtful approach. We hear only the negative, because that news sells. Keep your thoughts and minds focused on the Lord, and not on the negatives - we know those thoughts come from the pits of hell!

I pray for the protection of each of your loved ones, that they don't have to actually go to war, and if they do, that they will have the full protection of the Lord, and return to their families with an attitude of joy.

UNT Phi Kapps :(

Can everyone please keep the UNT Phi Kapps in your prayers?

Their house caught on fire early this morning, and several of their brothers were treated for smoke inhalation. The brothers who were trapped on the third floor were rescued and turned out OK.

The outside of their house doesn't look too bad, but the inside is terrible. :(

Investigators have so far called it an arson case. It is so scary :(

Please keep these guys in your prayers! They are an awesome bunch of guys and have supported our chapter with everything we have done, including fundraising for our new house.

Earlier today, several of my chapter sisters took some donated clothes and food by for the members. My roomie got a bunch of clothes and blankets that her father donated.

I really hope the Greek community here can pull together and help out these guys in their time of need.

ForeverDiamond - I will be praying for you and your boyfriend

As I'm sure some of you might have heard, Pat Tillman, a former Arizona State University Sun Devil and former Arizona Cardinal was killed in action in Afghanastan. He turned down a 3.6 million dollar contract in 2001 and joined the US Army Rangers shortly after September 11th. I do know that he has left behind a wife. His family. His brother is also a member of the US Army Rangers and he is still stationed overseas.

I'm pretty sure that he isn't Greek, although he might be, but if we could all still keep this man, his family and friends in out thoughts and prayers that would be great.

My dad's doctor is concerned that the cancer is growing at an abnormally fast rate. He goes in for surgery next week.

As I posed in another thread, I've decided to move home for a few months. I'm completely burned out, and it's really hard to be 3,000 miles away from my family in the midst of all of this.

honeychile 04-23-2004 08:14 PM

((((((((((Abbey)))))))))

I'm so glad that you're headed home soon! Where is the cancer located? And did the surgeon say anything about the odds? Please let me know on which day the surgery is scheduled, so I can keep him & the operating team in prayer!!

WHY ARE INSURANCE COMPANYS SO STUPID??????? I have been having extreme pains in my colon and ovary area since Feb. At first we thought it was endometorsis again. But that was a negative. So, my PCP sent me to a specialist; he thinks the endometorsis may have wrapped itself around my colon. We ordered a colonscopy and the insurance company denyed it. So, we did a barium contrast (blahhhhhh) and it came out negative. So, we again ordered a colonscopy and they denyed it again!! I went back to the Dr. today; and once again he is going to order it. He was spoken to the medical director once, but he is going to call them tomorrow to have it out with them. We wrote me a RX and the insurance denyed the RX saying that the Dr. needs to have approval from them to give it to me. Who the hell do they think they are? How can they decide what treatment can be done? I just don't get it? My doctor is sooo mad because he doesnt know what else to do. There is nothing I can take for the pain, so i just have to grin and bare it. I hate insurance companys!!! Please, pray that my stupid insurance will allow my Dr. to do what we need to get to the bottom of this and that it wouldn't be anything serious when we do!!

Also, I am going on several job interiviews next week. Pray that I get a job!! Thanks!!

TT love and loyally,
Brandi

P.S. I will continue to pray for each and every one of you and your loved ones!!

Prayers for my mama, again!! Seems that the one drug that she was given for her heart bypass has a little side effect - potential blindness!!!! WhyOhWhyOhWhy the FDA approved this, I don't know!!

Anyhow, my brother took her to a fairly routine appointment, and she's having emergency surgery right now (it may even be over!). We are asking for prayers that her complete vision would be restored to at least her pre-op state (or better). I know that God inhabits the prayers of His people, and I thank each of you who take a moment to pray for my mama (Dixie Lee)!

and some peace for her, my brother, & me!
