I'm so excited for recruitment to start here....it'll be fun to view it for the first time from the other side! I have a ton of friends rushing this year from both sides! yay:D

HELP HELP!!!! ... we have 4 (count 'em 4) recruitments started

Aug. 8-13: Mississippi State University
Aug. 8-14: Kansas State University
Aug. 9-14: Oklahoma State University
Aug. 9-15: Auburn University


But no fixes for our common aditction!!!!

hi yall. im steph and im SERIOUSLY addicted to rush threads!
im new here this year, but i've been reading older rush threads to help feed my addiction:P i cried whenever i read that someone had found a home:P MORE THREADS!

This is nuts...I am supposed to be at my stepson's game which starts in 45 minutes and I am reading rush threads! :p

Hello, I am Connie (hello connie) and I am a GC Rush Thread addict.

It started out innocent, logging on to greek chat only checking out the ADPi threads. Then I started to post my on replies. Then I started to look at the other sororities that I know of like my friends from other schools in other sororities.

Then that lead to harder stuff like keeping up with the other 3 sororities from my university and posting replies there. I would sneak in with "helpful" ebay information, and that would give me a GC fix.

Then when I couldnt get enough from that I fell into the trap, you know what I mean, I would "bump" a thread just so I would receive the much anticapated ***GREEK CHAT*** email. OHHH I LOVE THOSE EMAILS. I knew I could get through the next day as long as I had 7 or 8 emails with those beautiful blue lines to click (click click click)

But, bumping wasnt enough I found the RUSH THREAD (I used the excuse that I am a recruitment advisor as the reason I spent 4 to 5 hours on GC) Well, I figuired out as all addicts do that the normal GC wasnt enough. I had to tell every PNM good luck just so I would receive an email to keep up with what their second day held for them and then their third and

to find out what they went I cant stand it.

I wont give it up I won't.

Wow, tough act to follow. But here's my attempt.

Hi, I'm Becky (this is where y'all say "Hi, Becky" back), and I am a rush thread addict.

I first logged onto GC at the suggestion of a sister, PinkRose1098, at work over the summer. Mainly just to pass the time, and my boss didn't mind because he was a DTD at Alabama back in the day and he could kind of keep up on things as well.

I, like Connie, started just checking the forum for my sorority, then got all bold and started checking out the Greek Life and Rush and other assorted forums as well.

At first it was just stuff like "Hi, I'm from Auburn, this is what we do here..." kind of stuff. Then, "This is what I think y'all should do; it's what I would do." Then it turned into gibberish in the General Chat Topics section.

And oh! The emails came in letting me know that someone thought I was important enough to give a reply (and sometimes even quote me!), and it was wonderful.

Then, I didn't clear the history on the computer when I was home one break. I turned my mom into a GC lurker! I now have conversations with my mom about conversations on GC!

I feel bad sometimes because I don't feed others' addictions--I try not to post during recruitment *just in case* I let something slip I ought not to. I did post a couple of times in the AZD forum, but they were after bids went out and Bid Day was over.

I just can't help it, and this makes me want recruitment to start up all over again.

I am Jill and I am a rush thread addict. Hell, it is only March and I am ready to start the "Who is rushing in the fall?" thread :D

I figured it was appropriate to bump this thread because we are now all in a state of withdrawal.

A weary yea for rush threads from me. Our sixth daughter will attend a community college for a year so no recruitment here for the first year since 1999, but we'll be back with one in '07!
