Delta Gamma at Washington University in St Louis has also ceased operations.

I feel so bad for the environment that those campuses have created in terms of greek life and the sisters who wanted to keep their orgs operating. It's really sad.

Yes.

Greek life continues to decline on very selective private Universities.

We've had such unprecedented growth for 10 or 15 years, so a downtown is bound to come.

Delta Tau Delta will be colonizing at Keene State College

Kappa Alpha Theta has closed their chapter at Occidental College. It is listed as disestablished on the Theta website.

I see what the new member did and read this

"Theta has a process to address behavior that occurred prior to membership that aims to prevent a potential new member from even pledging Kappa Alpha Theta. Once a member, there are accountability systems in place for when a member’s actions do not align with our values. In this instance, these processes failed, and we want to be sure that that these processes are clearer and more actively followed in the future. While the chapter has since voted to terminate the member, the harm has already been done."

but I hope that the one member didn't cause the chapter's demise with her hatefulness. It's scary to think that one person could wipe out a chapter and exactly why many chapters, now that recs have been taken away, are tending to make their circles even smaller by only pledging women who are friends or friends of friends. So often in the last several years, we have seen irreparable damage done by one member.

This.

Quite a quick cut to the chase by those members. I like their move, they hold their standards high.

carnation 02-24-2022 02:14 PM

I don't like their move if they're blaming themselves for what someone did before they were even a member. Total loser move.

Look at the Theta page's first sentence. WTH? Why are they accepting guilt for what someone did before she was a member? And I don't believe in collective guilt anyway.

With their charter surrendered, they'll now have more time to focus on their gender studies degrees and fighting facism and other such boogeymen.
