Passed by the docked cruise ship in Oakland today. I spent the weekend in Vegas and flew out of the Oakland Airport. Both the Oakland and Vegas airports were DEAD. Also, the casinos were EMPTY. I also avoided the buffets. :(

An AGD alumna was on that ship. She has been quarantined on an Air Force base since they docked. She is now at LAX waiting for a flight home. She's been gone for weeks.

The University of Minnesota cancelled graduation. Are there any other schools out there that have announced this?

Western Michigan has now "postponed" graduation. I'm hoping that means they'll let these folks walk eventually. My son was laid off from his grad assistantship but is getting two more pay checks and there is no effect on his tuition. He's sad though. He has a signed a contract to continue working at Western after graduation but he doesn't know if that will happen now.

Has anyone's GLO cancelled or postponed a scheduled 2020 Convention? At this point, ours is still "on" for late June in Palm Springs, CA, and we're encouraged to register, but I just saw an interview last night on the PBS News Hour with the U.S. Rep from that area, who was formerly an ER physician, and he said the area has been hit hard due to the predominantly retired/elderly population. :(

Nothing on ours yet. It's the first time in a long time I didn't plan on going anyway. It's in Phoenix this year.

This past week, my mom tested positive for coronavirus. Fortunately, she only has mild symptoms - slightly elevated temperature, on-and-off aches and pains, and exhaustion. I video chatted with her last night and she's in good spirits. My stepdad hasn't experienced any symptoms yet and he's keeping his distance.

I hope things stay mild for your mom and that your stepdad doesn't get any symptoms. Getting tested in Michigan is not that simple. They still will not test you if you have not had known contact with someone who has tested positive. I know people turned away with all the symptoms. If you aren't sick enough to be hospitalized, you're not getting tested. There aren't enough tests. Michigan can be added to the list of states on lockdown now.
I think they're up to 7 Detroit police officers tested positive with over 200 in self quarantine. That's the kind of thing that gets really scary very quickly.
