Gray Mountain - John Grisham.

Notorious RBG--a biography of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It is a fascinating read; she's quite a lady.

^ Will have to go find that book - she's an AEPhi!

Kiss The Girls by James Patterson.

All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. Just started and am already engrossed in the story.

Just finished Uprooted by Naomi Novik. Honestly, it dragged in some spots to the point that I skimmed and mentally wielded an editing pen.

I read that a couple months ago...have you finished it yet? I felt like it fizzled as it went on...the ending felt unresolved, like it was set up for a sequel.

I finished The Orphanmaster. It was creepy, but it really read like a crime drama set in an interesting time period. In my opinion, the author could have skimped on the gory details and included a few more romantiic details with the main characters, but I did enjoy the book.

No, it's on the back burner. Personally, I find Grisham uneven.

I was thinking of going back and just skipping the gory parts, but wasn't sure how important they were to the plot. I did find the historical parts very interesting, though.

I put down Grisham's Gray Mountain temporarily to read Linda Fairstein's Death Angel. I really enjoy her books - all take place in New York City, with bits of Martha's Vineyard. One of the three main characters is very interested in the history of NYC, and that always comes to the surface of every crime they solve. Death Angel involves a lot about Central Park and the Dakota Building; her recent Terminal City involved the train system/Grand Central Station.

Does anyone else read The Cat Who... books, or Joanna Fluke's Hannah Swenson series?

The Day Before Midnight by Stephen Hunter.

The Girl on the Train - Paula Hawkins

My father recommended it and lent me his copy. Knowing his personality, I found it odd that he would recommend this book, but I'm only a couple of chapters in, so we'll see.

Loved that book and the movie (read the book well before the movie came out, but the movie was a good representation).

I've been a bit blah on reading lately. I used to work at a library and always had something in my hands. It also helps when you work with fellow readers and get recommendations or patrons rave about something so you try it. Tried reading "Shopaholic to the Rescue" but I think Kinsella may need to retire that series. I only got five chapters in and returned it to the library. I'm usually pretty dogged when it comes to finishing a book. It seems like many of my go-to authors are turning out stinkers lately. :'( However, I go through phases on what I read... true crime, military bios, romance, thriller, suspense, chick lit, inspirational lit, paranormal, etc. I'm pretty open to any genre but horror. Can't handle gore.

Tom, your library card must be on fire. LOL :D
