OMG I cannot wait to find out where in the heck this is...In and Out? Apple Pan????!!!:o

ellebud 09-20-2008 10:47 PM

The Apple Pan was one of the first "fast food" burger places. I remember it in the late 50s. (As in 1950s....). They serve the best hickory burgers out there. And, if you were a fan of 90210...The Peach Pit was the Apple Pan, and a hangout for all us Beverly kids. (Except the Apple Pan only has a counter). In and Out is a drive through or an eat on picnic benches very inexpensive burger place: Unlike the Apple Pan which serves hamburgers, tuna sandwiches and the best apple pie and banana cream pie and a few other things...In and Out has burgers, cheeseburgers, double doubles (2x everything) fries, soda. lemonade and milk shakes. My husband did an Apple Pan run yesterday. Both places are really high quality and cheap. (The In and Out cheeseburger is $1.39 I think...

I loved the Apple Pan! (Now I'm all homesick.)

ellebud, do you remember the name of those burger places that were around L.A. back in the 70s and 80s? They disappeared. There was one of them on La Cienega (or San Vicente) just North of Wilshire...right around Benehana. I'm drawing a complete blank on the name.

Hoff's Hut???

Fatburger?

And still going strong...Pinks! (Believe me when I say that we hardly ever eat fast/junk food...but if one is going to sin...these are the places to do it big time!)

ellebud 09-21-2008 12:26 AM

BTW: I don't know Hofs Hut...where was it? And what did they serve?

Isn't that a hot dog stand? I think I saw it profiled on Food network once and really wanted to go there one day.

If that's the case, then even I think I've figured out the school. I never can figure these out unless I attended or had a personal connection with a campus!

It's a restaurant that serves burgers, salads, sandwiches and stuff like that. It's o.k. but IMO, it's nothing special. They have lots of locations here in Southern California.

AXi1257 09-21-2008 01:30 PM

Fatburger??!! What a name for a heart clogging, fat producing place... must take SO good though! ;)

adpiucf 09-21-2008 02:02 PM

Ah Fatburger... your pores start clogging the minute you walk into one of those joints ...

ellebud 09-21-2008 02:41 PM

I believe I recall seeing a FatBurger in Tarzana on Reseda. We bought burgers from there once, when we lived in the valley...on Thanksgiving day, a very long time ago. I was cooking and my kids all had friends over. (I can just imagine people in other parts of the US saying..FatBurger...Tarzan-a? What are you people talking about?) :)

I think it might be $1.39 if you don't get anything else but the cheeseburger. I do know that a Double Cheeseburger combo meal, made "animal style" is over $5. Mmm just typing that out makes my mouth water!!

2) Which chapters are which?

3) What school did you go to?

These answers will be answered. I even actually found out what happened at Serena. All shall be revealed.

some may have wondered what happened at Serena. Well, I found out that Jessie's and my talk about ex bf's didnt go that well. When she found out that it was hard for me to not check his facebook and myspace, I came off stalker-style to her. Also, My over-confidence did not come off well to another member I talked to at pref. She thought I thought that I had serena in the bag.

Understandable

We have Fatburger up here in Seattle, too.

When I was in L.A. it was always In-N-Out for us, and when we were in Westwood at the bars, we frequently capped off the evening with a trip to Jerry's Famous Deli.

ellebud 09-22-2008 10:20 PM

BTW, Peppy...did you know that on the roof of Jerry's they (Jerry's people) wrote "Feel better soon!" that can be seen from Cedars? Good soup....

Reveal

Recruitment is done attttttttt

UCLA

so, I wanted to make sure to reveal my school.

Now in other news, my family friend just went to recruitment at UCLA. She is a junior. Now with the new junior quota rule, I am wondering if I should post her story to inform all the future PNM's of UCLA how the new quota system might influence their recruitment. opinions?

AnchorAlumna 09-30-2008 12:03 AM

Do it!!!
Just don't drag it out. And get her permission first.;)

APhiAnna 09-30-2008 12:10 AM

Ooooh do it and use the same codenames! That will be fun seeing the comparisons of which houses you liked/didn't like.
