new book on perfume...

http://www.perfumestheguide.com/

I read a little of this in the store - I dig that they come out and say they love Lady Stetson, although overall it's kind of snarky for my taste. Some of the things they like I'm just like "wtf are you thinking???"

Oh, and I've been liking VS Pure Seduction lately.

6-8 YEARS?

Hmmmmm...

I echo what GeekyPenguin said.

I had a triple major and one minor and did it in 3.5 years, so I know it can be done.

When catiebug starts quoting ktbug, it's hard to keep things straight -

I just gave away a Love Spell (by Victoria's Secret) body lotion. It was too heavy. One of my coworkers swears by Amber Romance. I just love VS's Divine & got the edt spray & body lotion for Christmas. I have several body sprays from VS, too.
I also love Estee Lauder's Cinnabar - I have both the powder & spray. I always have a couple of Avon cologne sprays to use daily (like Haiku, Be Kissable and Island Vibe). I use body sprays by Avon and Bed & Bath Works. Now I have B & B's Pink Grapefruit and Honeysuckle.
I'm always getting more scents - just ordered Avon's Flower (brand new) although I haven't even smelled it at all yet. Lately, I like really light "pinky" scents. But it's hard to beat Shalimar.

summer '08 is the only summer i am taking classes so i can catch up. but after that the other summers i'm using to intern so that way i can get my foot in the door at places i want to work... that's why it's going to take me forever. plus if i figured correctly including my freshman year i have to take around 350-400 credits to get my degree.

and i haven't even decided if i want to get my master's yet....

I think your math has to be wack. Most colleges require something like 120 credits for a degree. About 60 of those are generally "core" classes so unless you're majoring in business, pre-med, and communication, you should have some sort of overlap. I double-majored and I got out in 4 years with 150 credits.

ktbug10474 04-18-2008 12:16 AM

i hope my math is wack. lol.

i know part of it is because i'm going to have to transfer and some of the core classes that count in GA don't count in FL so i'll have to retake those.

and i'm majoring in sports management/marketing ... so i'm definitely going to have to take a TON of business classes... i'm trying to figure out if i want to minor in a language though ... because i know spanish is becoming really big in the us now and i think it would be beneficial i just don't know though

and back to the OP....

i found $50 in my old wallet and i went and bought DKNY Delicious Night .... OMG it smells gorgeous ... but then again i like anything from DKNY so yeah. :)

christiangirl 04-19-2008 02:17 AM

for me: Curious, Chanel No. 5

for him: Burberry

catiebug, you should be canonized for pulling that off!

Tulip86 03-07-2011 06:16 PM

I love Dolce & Gabbana no. 3 L'Impératrice

Also like Dior Chèrie, quite sweet but good.

violetpretty 03-07-2011 06:34 PM

I interchange Bulgari Omnia Amethyste, Fresh Hesperides, Fresh Citron de Vigne, Lavanila Vanilla Grapefruit, and Marc Jacobs Daisy.

jessica.lanelle 03-07-2011 10:26 PM

My favorites right now are:
Very Hollywood-Michael Kors
Bright Crystal-Versace
Daisy-Marc Jacobs
and good ole' Ralph by Ralph Lauren

PhoenixAzul 03-07-2011 10:29 PM

I wear Lovely by Sara Jessica Parker...yeah a little cheesy, but it smells good and I get compliments on it all the time. Subtle, flowery and a little spicey. It's very fitting.

33girl 03-07-2011 11:12 PM

Jen - did you get your samples yet? When you do, please let me know what you think. I've been checking out that site too but I wanted the opinion of a real human I know who had tried it. Not that I need ANYTHING right now. I'm on some meds that are heightening my sense of smell (I somewhat understand what pregnant women go through) and I can't wear anything stronger than body spray.

christiangirl 03-08-2011 12:04 AM

My perfume of choice is Burberry Touch for Women. I also like Curious, the first Britney Spears perfume, but it smells best when I pair it with flower scented lotion.

PeppyGPhiB 03-08-2011 01:14 AM

I'm sure I posted to this thread a long time ago, but one of my newer favorites has been Dolce & Gabbana The One. Every time I wear it people want to know what I'm wearing. My husband wears the men's cologne version, also called The One, and it is delicious!

BAckbOwlsgIrl 03-08-2011 12:27 PM

I love Thierry Mugler Angel. Every time I wear it, I get compliments.
For more professional events and the office, I wear Pucci. I also wear it to ski.
Calvin Klein Euphoria is what I wear to the gym or the grocery store,so I can get rid of it. It is just too strong. I still like it. Ironically, my friends compliment me on it.

Kappamd 03-08-2011 12:35 PM

I'm not allowed to wear perfume per hospital/school guidelines, but when I do it is always Daisy by Marc Jacobs. It's the only one that I don't find suffocating. My fiance only wears Pi by Givenchy (which started out as a joke because he is a math grad student, but I love it now).

Alumiyum 03-08-2011 01:50 PM

My go-tos are:
1. Pure Poison by Dior-I wear this when I go out. It's a little stronger and sexier than I like for the daytime.
2. LAVANILA Vanilla Coconut-It's heavy on the vanilla with a little coconut. It's a good date scent for me because it's sweet but not overwhelming and it's a little comforting, too.
3. Philosophy Amazing Grace-This is what I usually wear during the day if I wear actual perfume because it's light and clean.
4. Plain ole oils...Nag Champa and Sandalwood-Most of the time this is what I'm wearing day to day. It's the easiest to put on in small quantities but still keep a nice scent all day, and I just like it.

ThetaPrincess24 03-08-2011 03:43 PM

My favorites right now:

Pure Grace, Inner Grace, Amazing Grace, Eternal Grace, Field of Flowers, & Falling in Love by Philosophy

Donna Karan Gold by Donna Karan
Hanae Mori Butterfly by Hanae Mori
Pure DKNY by DKNY

nittanygirl 03-08-2011 07:09 PM

Versace Bright Crystal is what I currently have & LOVE.
Before that I used Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue and I still love that.
I also really like Curious by Britney Spears.. My mom recently found me a small bottle of it. I used to wear it a lot so it's kinda nice to have around now.

For guys I love Polo Blue, David Beckham (but I bought it for my dad so I wouldn't want my SO to wear it) and have always always loved Hollister Drift (but it's discontinued)

LikeASista 03-08-2011 08:55 PM

There is no greater smelling perfume than Attraction, which was on the market about three years (or so) ago, but Lancome discontinued it. I have no idea why, so I'm stuck to buying it on Ebay by a reputable seller who, apparently, has all of their old stock. It's expensive even on Ebay, but well worth it. I'm going to be so sad when I'm not able to find it anywhere else. :(

lovespink88 03-08-2011 10:36 PM

My favorite is Pink by Victoria's Secret (the original scent, non of the "fruity & bright" etc. crap). I really like j'adore by Dior as well.

But my everyday scent is Sea Island Cotton Body Splash by Bath & Body works.

christiangirl 03-08-2011 10:46 PM

^^^^Oooooh yes, I forgot about the casual, everyday scent. Lemon & Pomegranate body splash by C.O. Bigelow (Bath & Body Works). It smells like Skittles. :o

YES! I have a bottle of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue that I used to love. Now it gives me headaches, so I can't wear it. My husband gave me a Ferragamo perfume a few years ago that smells a lot like it, and same goes for that one.

thetaj 04-04-2011 04:05 PM

My absolute favorite is Coach Legacy. It's light, tasty and classy, perfect for special occasions or everyday wear.

ThetaPrincess24 04-04-2011 04:13 PM

I got a sample of Dolce & Gabbana Rose the One a couple of weeks ago from Sephora. I love it!!!

Munchkin03 04-04-2011 05:15 PM

It's time for a Spring/Summer fragrance!

I'm debating between Annick Goutal's "Petite Cherie" and Dior "Cherie." (Clearly, there's a theme here.) My fall/winter scents this year were Narciso Rodriguez and Stella...love them but a liiitle too heavy these days.

33girl 01-31-2015 07:15 PM

Bumping a couple benign girly threads because ERMAGEHRD TEH SPAMZ.

Has anyone seen Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker anywhere lately??

1964Alum 01-31-2015 07:54 PM

Here is another very good source for decants that a real perfume devotee friend prefers to The Perfume Court, which I have also been very satisfied with.

http://surrendertochance.com/

I have also been very satisfied with The Fragrance Shop, which makes excellent replications of the originals of many classics that have become mere shadows of themselves due to reformulation rules in Europe. The quality is excellent, as is the service.

AOIILisa 01-31-2015 09:12 PM

I love Jo Malone's Oud and Bergamot, but unfortunately, it doesn't last that long. I get lots of compliments on it, though.
