Reception candy bar (with sparkly Toms shoes for guests to take home!) Found it when I Googled sparkly Toms. lol. |

That neon candy thing with the sparkly shoes is too garish! It makes my eyes bleed!

I thought it was fun. With the exception of that squirrel made of grass on the table.

It appears that, somehow, in this entire thread, I have failed to post our own wedding colors and theme.
Our wedding colors were blue, blue, and ... um ... oh yes, blue. DH's favorite color is blue, and I love everything in the blue/purple range of the spectrum. I picked out pale blue dresses for my bridesmaids. My MOH (a sorority sister) wore her dress again, at another sorority sister's wedding. I asked my bridesmaids to pay for their own dresses and shoes, so I deliberately picked something they could wear again, and I'm honored that my MOH did so. I actually meant to order one for myself, but I was distracted by a few little things, like, oh, getting married. :p My mother chose a mid-blue dress. MIL chose a lighter blue dress, beaded up and down  . GMIL on her side did likewise  GMIL on DH's dad's side chose a mid-blue dress and a black cardigan. (She is forgiven the black cardigan as she was quite elderly. She has since passed away.) |

I really love the first purple one listed on this page! I'm going to a wedding later this summer where everything is purple (linens at reception and flowers). But the bridesmaids have just been instructed to get black cocktail dresses. Curious to see how everything for this wedding comes together.

^^^^I've worn strapless gowns as a maid but never pulled or tugged. By the time you've been through like 3 fittings, it fits so well that you shouldn't need to (unless you lose weight after your last one.)

I'm tired of seeing BRIDES tugging up the front of their strapless gowns, not to mention the hundreds of bridesmaids put through strapless horror, myself included. There is nothing "strapless" that goes with natural DD's. Get the thing tight enough to keep the girls up, and then you can't breath or eat all night. Hell, that goes for spaghetti straps too. I hope that when my siblings get married, they don't ask me to be in the bridal party.

I'ma big fan of the "here's the color for the dresses, pick a style that looks good on you in that color" brides. Especially with places that have dresses in all styles made from the same fabric...what's the difference if one looks good in a strapless and another in a one-shoulder and another in a sweetheart? Wouldn't you rather they all look good than cookie cutter?
